Let's try and get 1,000,000 replies to this post

I'll look for that one too...

Last night I got to install the aftermarket exhaust on my bike, and now it sounds racy!!!  (and I got to paint more )

Wasted is just a week away from finishing all the summer projects!

From what I understand the exact midpoint of North America is somewhere in Nebraska.... also a great metal state..... hmmmmm, if no one objects, I wouldn't mind going to Toronto.... Canada is so cool.......

If we do that, you may end up meeting my family, too.  My dad's relocating to Ottawa shortly.

Montreal has Heavy MTL, which is apparently going to be annual. So that's a possibility too.

Montreal has many options: during the winter and spring, there's hockey; during the late summer and fall, there's football.  There's Just For Laughs in July, the NAPA Auto Parts 200 in August and the F1 Grand Prix du Canada in June.  Montreal, of course, is also home to the Cirque du Soleil.

Natalie, you might be interested in the massive Pride community in Montreal.  There's two big dance festivals each year in Montreal, and it's where the '06 Outgames were held.  Probably one of the most Pride-friendly cities in North America.

Right now, I'm just in the mood to party!

-- I just put in my notice at my current job, and it went well.  Today, I'm getting my application in for starting school again this fall.  I think I need a drink.

Thanks!!  It freaks the shit outta me to be changing jobs again, but this one was gonna make me insane.  I had lined up my GMAT exam last year when this job came along, and I should have stuck with the plan... but, hey, I learned a lot and now I know its the way I wanna go.

So, here is to another 2 1/2 years of schooling!

You know what, I've been considering changing jobs for years now. The problem I have is similar to having a pair of comfy slippers - the job's OK, the pay is good and I don't really have too much cause for complaint about it. So it feels comfortable and I just can't get rid.

But I could earn more with my skills, but with added pressure and more responsibility. And I really can't be arsed with all that right now. :D

Wasted: Let's go for it!  Exactly what are you taking at school, then?

Albie: What do you do now?

That was my gig, the pay from the job I'm leaving is great, hours as well, but the stress of it was sucking the life outta me.

@LC:  The classes I'm taking this fall are to fulfill some under-grad classes I missed out on (econ 2, and a database mgt class) -- I can take them at a local college, and work on geting my GMAT taken.  Then I'll apply to grad school for the Spring semester and work on my MBA in marketing.  Honestly, I'd love to teach at a community college, so we'll see what happens-- I'm gonna be looking at being a TA starting in the spring.

I work in IT as part of an infrastructure team. My main area is on the iSeries (an IBM mid-range system).

To be honest, the same, or similar, type of job - just with a different company, different surroundings and so on. I can't really go on and retrain myself for a totally different career, so a sideways step would not be too bad.

Hmm, that's true.  Why don't you just quietly look into it?

Also, how come you never go to the chat :(

I really should, but we have a project at work at the moment that's about to see us thrown into it - it's real edge of the seat stuff here. In short, the entire IT equipment is about to change in all our stores (it's a retail company) and there is 1300 of the buggers. Everything is about to change.

I have been known to go in there once in a while. I really should do more often.

But right now, I have to eat. :D

Sounds exciting.  I like working with new stuff.  One of the reasons I've stayed interested in my job.

That is quite a job Albie. Interesting work though. Infrastructure is my forte as well but my current assignment has me relegated to pretty much a help desk guy. A series of events has really hurt the active duty guys in my field because of a contract I am not going to go into. It will be nice when I can finally change jobs as well. Good luck with the project.

What do you do anyway LC? I'm sure you've mentioned it before but yes, I'm too lazy to check.
