Sorry, not that far.  I'm gonna ride down through Missouri, and Tennesse, and back up through Kentucky and Illinois.  Mite dip down into Arkansas, but its just a circle trip.

That's cool. If you do ever feel like heading to the east though, let me know. I'll show you around some good places.

I'll def hit you up!  Sounds like fun!

I was in DC once, back in '95.  My ex had a friend that worked in the Air Force out there.  Cool place to look around!

Yeah, as long as you stay in the right areas, it can be a good place to be. Travel off the beaten path though...........

I care not a bit about the mudslinging and Rev. Wright stuff. My problem with this guy is that he says nothing. He's like a one man, walking pep rally. Sure he'll get you excited about things and CHANGE!!!! but what the hell is he really going to do? He does not have the ideas, experience or correct knowledge to bring the United States into this great new Utopia that's being promised.

The other two aren't any better by the way; just in their own special ways. It's quite the quandary we've gotten ourselves into down here.

Hmm.  Well, I know what you mean by that.  There's a lot of harping on "change" by both camps.  Obama, sometimes, gets caught up in his rhetoric.  His health care plan is indistinguishable from Hillary's, and he has mentioned the idea of paying for students' university as long as they work in a government sanctioned program for the summer.  So that is a good point.

His website provides a lot of his platform.  Unfortunately, you can blame the media, I think.  The media's not interested in platforms, they're interested in soundbytes.  That's why, when there's a debate, they don't ask, "How are you going to fix the economy? What's your comprehensive plan?".  They instead ask, "Where's your flag pin?  What about those Bosnian snipers?  Reverend Wright?"

By the way, my favourite part of Obama's platform is to mandate the extension of high speed internet service to every house in America.

Hmmm, think about that for a minute..... would you really want EVERY American to have access to high speed internet in their homes? That prospect scares the crap out of me.  :D

Yes!  Remember, I do tech support for Americans...dialup is the devil.

I live in a remote area, and finding high-speed is a real problem here... there are places that you just can't get it.  My dad lives just 25 miles out side of Kansas City MO, and he can't get high speed where he is at.

In Western Europe, it's hard to find areas where dialup is even offered anymore.  There's something wrong on this side of the pond.

I agree with that!  For a while, the only broadband I could find was by satellite, and it was Hughes.  If I remember, the amount of info you can download per month amounted to a couple albums worth of music, and then they dropped your speed to near dialup.  Luckily I was close enough to a hub, and could get DSL-- had to get a ground based phone line tho, but at least I could have internet!
@Perun, I notice your name is blue now-- and you have posted over 194 posts a day!!! Thats great for a newbie!!

The Internet IS the future.  That's why the Republicans aren't pushing for development of internet lines cross-country.  It's a dangerous place to the neo-conservative point of view.  Full of them crazy lib'rals.

Yeah, I have to agree.  Tho, this really seems like a 3 party country with two parties.  I know many 'conservatives' that really arent.  They follow some of that parties ideals, but not all.  its like there is an entire 'centrist' party, but it doesn't have any politicians.

I'm at work, leaving in 5 minutes, be home in bout 35.

If you are online then, I'll chat you up-- and I'm gonna be watching the game with a beer and a brat!
