I never prepared or planned my karaoke sessions but maybe it's a good idea
It really is. Sometimes you think you know a song but when you actually sing it there are hassles with timing and breaks between the lyrics.
It's always nice to search for new songs to see if they fit your voice type.

Yes but how you can really do it? The difficult part is adjusting your voice to the microphone, do you have a microphone at home?

I’ve been watching those old rave club videos where people are dancing and having the time of their life. I’ve always had a soft spot for uplifting trance music and I’d like to attend such an event to try and let go of worries. Anybody have experience with raves and can give me some tips on where to go for something like that? I could try a local club sometime, but I’d probably be going alone and I imagine it would be difficult to get in the zone and really be free.

It doesn't hurt to try. Getting in the zone is difficult, but you'll get there eventually. Maybe you need to try more than once and it will be very rewarding when you'll reach there.

I don't do rave anymore, thought I did my fair share when I was your age, both in clubs with a fee and gorillas at the security and free in forests /beaches. It was very nice and I have some great memories but I wasn't too free unfortunately. I was too much focused on getting one night stands which I rarely did under this context, but it occupied my mind and took away some of the magic of just dancing and having fun with my friends. I was under ecstasy /hallucinogens all the time, the best moments were when I was so completely stoned that I was forgetting the chicks and simply enjoyed and thank god there were many moments like that. If you have seen "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" you'll know what I mean.

Nope. I practice in the cellar.

Your dedication is impressive, kudos! The recipe of happiness :)
