YEah, I guess that Ubuntu uses both DEB and a RPM(?) system.  I"ll hafta read that link, just so I know what I'm trying to talk about.    :ok:

I guess that I would be able to find my way around a MAC relativity quickly. I do tend to have this knack of picking these things up.
 
Yes, but how many of us do tech professionally?  You do motorcycles, and I am definitely an amateur there.
 
To run an app/tool from a command line, you use sudo followed by the command itself. So if you want to delete all your files on your new ubuntu lappy, you might type something like:

sudo rm -r /

But don't try the above. :D
 
But just to confuse us bods, in Mandriva (and I believe in Fedora also) it's just plain SU.
