...which we still could of course if there were ever any more good Naval battles...

I see! This is the key  :)
-That's true, we don't hear about naval battles since over 100 years, right Loosy ?

We are part of the Department of the Navy SS ____no5.

I thought you were a separate Corps, like in some other countries

I think they have their own heirachy, but are a branch of the Navy?  They have their own senior officers, serve on Navy ships, but under a seperate command...?

Imagine doing a combat boarding of an enemy aircraft carrier.  My dad's done combat boardings before, during interdiction in the Adriatic during Bosnia.

I'm jealous.

To wrap it up; we are a completely separate branch of the US military. The man I work for (The Commandant of the Marine Corps) is a 4 star General and is part of the Chiefs of Staff. Similarly, the Navy has a 4 star Admiral (Chief of Naval Operations) that also sits on this staff. Because of our close ties, the Marine Corps does fall within the Department of the Navy though. If ever there is a Fleet Admiral again (5 stars), then both the Commandant and the CNO would fall under his jurisdiction. The main boss for all of us is the Secretary of the Navy, appointed by the President of the United States of course.

There is not a big enough war (or operating theatre, let's say) to justify a Fleet Admiral at this point. In any case, I am certain that if anyone were to get a fifth star any time soon it would be an Army General (think MacArthur), rather than an Admiral. There is just not enough naval activity going on anymore to justify a Fleet Admiral.

So, I just got back in the office from out in the hall. This is what I like: Women with really long, silky hair that when they turn their head, the hair goes flying neatly around their face and then gets a little stuck in their lipstick. That's gold baby!

Ha ha!  I dig that.... I wouldn't kick either outta bed for eating crackers.  I'd actually to see the both in my bed eating crackers.... :ok:
