I'm spending far too much time trying to argue with a stranger on Facebook that Alexander the Great wasn't the cunning tactical genius that people who know history only from video games or battle diagrams tend to make him out to be.

It's not "tactical errors" per se, it's more complicated than that.

Who would be?

Probably an educated contemporary of his who could answer questions that Alexander couldn't. I'm more interested in the mindset of the age than the events themselves.
Of course, if somebody told me I could have a wine with Alex, I wouldn't say no.
