Actually, listening to Quiet Riot, I thought of a reason the 80's ruled. When I was in 5th grade, a kid on the school bus would crank I Wanna Rock and We're Not Gonna Take It on his boom box. And that was right about the time I discovered the local metal station and heard Flight Of Icarus without knowing who it was, but loving it so much! That would have been right around 1985-1986.
