My storage room in the basement is filling up rapidly. Soon time for the worst part of the preparation ... cleaning. Bathroom, windows, kitchen equipment ... speaking of, I still need to move away my microwave and water heater.

The coffee brewer is the last item to go.

I can hear what I think is Bring Me The Horizon playing down at the park. They sound pretty good, actually.
:nonono:

They are a terrible band. I saw them supporting Killswitch Engage 12 years ago and they were dreadful. Back then they were a dire Screamo band who attracted hardcore dancers. For some reason, possibly related to their hair and make-up, they got popular and NME picked them as their token "Metal" band to follow so they changed their style to go mainstream. The definition of sell-outs. Sad and weak.

I don't generally like teeny Kerrang-friendly stuff, but they do sound okay from here (as in, about half a mile away).
That's closer than anyone should ever be to Bring Me The Hairspray. They subheadlined Reading Festival to Metallica in 2015. Fortunately Gojira were playing on the tiny stage at the time, and Ash on another stage just after. The rain was tipping it down so I couldn't get in for Ash.

Someone always has to bring willies into it.

Meanwhile, my neighbour, who plays RNB at full blast, is complaining about being able to hear "bang bang" music from the park.

The last couple of nights my pleb neighbours have been having parties in their back garden with some very loud and repetitive bassy "music". After dinner yesterday I decamped to the McDonalds across the road to use wifi and by the time I went back inside they'd turned the music off and most of their friends (with children) had gone home. Damn this nice weather.

Sad downside to summer. We have two sun worshipping dodgy characters next door with skin like knackered old leather who would happily spend all day every day lying in the garden listening to Smooth FM on full volume while smoking endless roll ups, occasionally pausing to have blazing rows with each other. They have a junkie son who adds to this effect by blasting RNB and singing along (badly) when they're out, and also singing in the garden at 2am. Oddly, these people are also foster carers for a three year old.
