I'll ask you guys a question, because me and my friend always argue over this whenever we go to gigs. If you go to a gig to watch a certain band, should you wear that bands merch? He says no because the fact you've bought a ticket shows you support them enough and wearing their shirt is unnecessary, what do you guys think?

I will always wear an Iron Maiden t-shirt to an Iron Maiden show and try to make it the t-shirt from the previous show/tour I saw. However, as I've increased my intake of Iorn Maiden shows lately I've had to diversify into older t-shirts or fanclub t-shirts as there's no way I can afford to spend £25 at every concert I go to. No fucking way. Also, when I've gone to Iron Maiden concerts in Scotland the last couple of years I wore my 'These Colours Don't Run' t-shirt which I got the first time I saw them back in 2006 on the 'A Matter of Life And Death' tour in Glasgow.

I don't always buy tshirts now as they've become too expensive and I also go to a lot of gigs so I am supporting the band by purchasing a ticket. Instead of a t-shirt I sometimes get a wristband or something else small which I can wear and has a practical use but isn't yet another black t-shirt that I won't wear.

I do try to support a mid tier or smaller level band by buying a physical copy of their music. I feel that gives me more value than a T Shirt, often at a similar price. A lot of these bands survive off merch.
