I think you're learning to fly in the wrong country.
It surely takes some patience learning it in Norway. Especially when neither I nor the instructors are doing this full-time, and some flying opportunities are lost to work. But on the other hand ... I have to work to have money for flying lessons!

I booked my first glider lesson. Been called off 2 weekends in a row. Fuck the weather. Means more time for pints but

Cool! Now the forum just needs a parajumper or two, and we're complete in the air sports department.

Speaking of air sports ... makes me think of a TV series I've been watching this autumn called "Værdal'n Karsk & BASE" about a bunch of guys whose two passions are karsk (a drink native to middle Norway, consisting of coffee and moonshine - I had the "pleasure" of getting to know this during my time in Trondheim) ... and base jumping :help2:The founders were of course from the town of Verdal north of Trondheim.

Just what?
You just dont get it, horse.

Never done a jump but often thought I would enjoy it. Im pretty sure that once I've been up in a glider then the next logical step will be to jump out of something. Did a naked bungee jump once. Very scary. Brilliant buzz. Got a vhs of it. Im pleased vhs is now obsolete.

You can at least prove that you have big balls, metaphorically.

So, let's hope the good weather stays for a few more days ... it's time for the long solo navigation flight, with landing at two airports different from the one I start from. The planned flight is to Kristiansand near the southern tip of Norway, with a landing at a smaller airport on the way there.

Because of LC's drunk post about the board and its members, I was thinking that most of the regulars here have already met or at least seen each other. I have enjoyed meeting every single person here that I have had the chance to, and I thought that it could be fun to try and imagine what some of the others are like. Probably the image I have created of some of them is completely wrong, but it might be fun to compare. So I'll start with some of the most regular members that I have not met.

@Diesel 11 : Diesel has blue eyes and some trendy hairdo. His room is tidy and there are posters on the wall. He wears sneakers all the time and very often grey clothes. He likes to keep his stuff neat, helps his mum with the housework, but secretly wishes he was a bad boy. He has several baseball caps that he used to love, but can't afford to wear now because he thinks he looks silly in them. He would never throw them away though.

@CriedWhenBrucieLeft : He wears glasses and has stubble. He wears a brown or beige cardigan and walks slowly, slightly stooped. He always reads a book with his tea, has a cat and a big shed full of gardening tools. He plays board games with friends on the weekend and laughs out loud with his mouth open and his head tilted back when watching films. He keeps numerous photographs from when he was a child.

@Zare : Zare is medium-built, medium-height and with very dark eyes. Wears black t-shirts and jeans and smokes. He drinks a lot of black coffee and gets up early. Has a huge TV that is the centrepiece of his living room and he has it on very often just for background noise. He talks to his grandma on the phone frequently.

Go on, you're next.

I have a completely different image of Cried. He has hundreds of books and a cat. He Has a small house which is a bit shabby on the outside, but extremely tidy and orderly. He always knows where everything is and can't take it when somebody misplaces something. He always has a sweater over his shirt with the shirt collar exposed. He's extremely reserved in the way he behaves, he never does anything more than chuckle, but prefers not to be heard at all when he finds something amusing. He never actually smiles either.

List of top 5 guesses on what Cried actually looks like.
