As discussed in another thread/Chat, I can't remember which, we don't really have proper ID cards here, so I was using a student ID card with a (paper) provisional driving licence for extra proof. It was basically a case of "We'll have the Council looking into us if we have underage-looking girls in here."

It just said it all about the establishments in that town. Half the girls out drinking were underage, and the bars definitely didn't want police or council officers going in the toilets on a busy night.

I was 19 the first time I remember anyone saying something. When you're 19 and folks insist you can't be older than 14 what they are basically saying is you look immature. But when you're in your mid 20s and trying to get a job you've got shedloads of experience for, and the interviewer just looks at you and thinks "school leaver" (they couldn't be bothered to read your CV, obviously) and then tries to interest you in something totally below your level for pathetic pay ... :angry-:

It's hard for me to believe that people overlook The Chemical Wedding, a tapestry of sound, a story in music, a rich field of gold and silver and more inspiration than any other release in God's mortal soil. For that matter, I can't believe I once considered it "just okay". It's fucking amazing. It amazes me every time. I hope it sticks at the top of my list forever and ever and ever, amen.

Nah man, Ahab’s The Call of the Wretched Sea is the greatest album ever. Empire of the Clouds is the best song of a l l t i m e and Thomas and the Magic Railroad is closely behind it as the best movie FOREVER because it made me who I am today, even though Die Hard is the single greatest movie of humankind.

A song and an album are not the same thing, but EOTC is still my favorite.

Thomas and the Magic Railroad is closely behind it as the best movie FOREVER because it made me who I am today, even though Die Hard is the single greatest movie of humankind.
Movies and albums and songs are also not the same thing, but yes. Pardon my nostalgia.
