Congrats - I hope this means more money and not too much more of stuff you don't want :).
It's a move from support to leadership, which I'm excited about - leadership is a transferable skill.

@bearfan, we're using cover sheets on all the TPS reports now...I'm going to go ahead and make sure you get a copy of that memo.

On the serious side, how many people are subordinated to you now? Do you expect challenges there?

I don't have any direct reports, it's more of a peer leadership role. If it goes well I will end up with direct reports eventually. What I like is that I don't have to do on call anymore - and that I do get paid more.
 
Sounds like a seniority status then. It's always great when you don't need to quit or threaten to quit to get a raise. Here's to hoping that this thread will include many such testimonials during its lifetime.
