A co-worker came in ecstatic today because he picked up a copy of the original Killers vinyl for $30. I said that's pretty cool, but then he showed it to me and it is signed by every member of the band in 1981! He asked the owner of the record store why it was so cheap and he said, "because no one was buying it for $60." So my co-worker looks up pictures of the band's signatures on his phone and explains to the owner that they're completely legit and the owner says, "If you don't buy it, I'm raising the price the moment you leave." So, he bought it, and now he has Adrian, Dave, Steve, Paul, and Clive's signatures!

Ya, that's really amazing! My one Maiden related claim to fame is meeting Blaze at his solo show in 2011 and getting my X Factor cover signed. That was pretty amazing though!

Hungry as hell, prepare a nice meal, then spill the entire glass of coke everywhere before you start to eat and try to clean the place while your meal gets colder and colder. Just a great way to start a day.

Training class today (and the rest of the week) on Hadoop. It starts in about a half hour (virtual). I signed on early to make sure I set everything up properly. Have the camera up with the instructor sitting at her desk doing whatever on her computer. That would be a bit weird for me (MUST NOT PICK NOSE!)

I'm feeling pretty good. One of my best friends came up from Nova Scotia on Friday. We went to the Canadian War Museum, which was my first time. The collection is incredible - medals and equipment and such, including artifacts recovered from the very first instance of violence yet located by archaeolgists on Canadian soil, including cannon from the colonial era (a 60kg French howitzer used at Louisbourg). And then there was the World Wars collection, including a StuG III that was knocked out in Ortona by Canadian tanks, and one of Hitler's limos. Incredible.

I'm going to be a part of the training unit of a rather big software company and my sole task is to make its employees aces at English.

Is adult teaching something you have done a lot with? I hear it's much different from teaching young'ns.
