In other news, I'm afraid my grandma doesn't have a lot of time left. Her health has deteriorated a lot since last summer and she's barely able to move on her own.

Sorry to hear that, Saap. I'm going through something similar with my girlfriend's grandma. She's almost 94 and in the last few months her health has deteriorated very rapidly. She can't really walk or stand without help, whereas just a few months ago she was able to move on her own with the help of a walker. We're moving her into an assisted living facility so that she has a nurse 'round the clock. Sad to see how quickly things go downhill once you hit a certain age.

Some new Bruce pics from the air show he participated in this weekend at Værnes, Norway!

What a summer we're having here. 9 degrees and rain. I heard there was snow on the ground a few days ago. It melted right away, of course, but still, snow in the middle of June.

I'm so very sorry to hear that. I hope she will have lived a good, long, and happy life when her time does come.

In the space of 24 hours last week, two spectacular rescue operations were carried out in southern Germany.

Both involved men who had become trapped deep inside cave-like structures, and a large team working to set them free. But if explorer Johann Westhauser is expected to soon tell the world how he got trapped inside Germany's deepest cave, an anonymous exchange student might prefer to keep quiet about the story of how he got into a tight spot.

On Friday afternoon, a young American in Tübingen had to be rescued by 22 firefighters after getting trapped inside a giant sculpture of a vagina. The Chacán-Pi (Making Love) artwork by the Peruvian artist Fernando de la Jara has been outside Tübingen University's institute for microbiology and virology since 2001 and had previously mainly attracted juvenile s******s rather than adventurous explorers.

According to De la Jara, the 32-ton sculpture made out of red Veronese marble is meant to signify "the gateway to the world".

Police confirmed that the firefighters turned midwives delivered the student "by hand and without the application of tools".

The mayor of Tübingen told the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper that he struggled to imagine how the accident could have happened, "even when considering the most extreme adolescent fantasies. To reward such a masterly achievement with the use of 22 firefighters almost pains my soul."

I really pissed off some woman on the train. She deserved it though.

I was sitting at a table in the aisle seat with my bag on the window seat while I sorted out a couple of things. Then some woman came along to sit across from me and somewhat brusquely told me that she had two other people coming along. It was pretty obvious to me that she was implying that she wanted me to move to the window seat which I was going to do anyway so I said that I was going to move anyway. For some reason the woman took umbrage at that and said "I'm not asking you to move, I'm just telling you that I've got a couple of other people coming". In what way is that not an instruction to move? As I moved across to the window seat I tried to diffuse the situation by saying, in an ironic tone, "Ah, but you're strongly hinting that I should move aren't you?" but that just made the stupid cow lose her temper so I put my headphones in to avoid having to listen to her bullshit. As her companions arrived she said to them "He's putting his headphones in so that's him."

What a complete bitch. If she'd just asked me to move across because other people were coming then she wouldn't have had to lose her temper. If I hadn't been wearing my work t-shirt and name badge then I'd like to think that I'd have had a go at her for being so rude.

I'm digging the Manilla Road viking concept album.

...and yes I am six years late. Also I started a battle jacket back in June of last year. It's mostly finished, but I still have some ideas for it. That border that I put on three of my Iron Maiden patches were directly sewn on there by me. Those patches were kinda falling apart and needed some repair. That peace sign with the American flag on it is a NHRA patch I received from my grandfather. Sorry about the tshirtslayer watermark on the pictures.

I've been loving the new Sabaton album lately, Inmate 4859 is a killer track. Definitely one of my top albums of 2014. :shred:
