Half my plans for today were thwarted by another sleepless night. Let's see if I can get the rest going.

I don't think I'll ever get used to working in the basement of a ghost villa.

My university is known for having its institutes spread in plenty of small buildings, usually villas, because the campus is in a well-to-do suburb. I work for a research project conducted by my university, and having its base in a particularly fancy and big house, and my workplace is in the basement. It's all fine and dandy basically, but you don't see very many people, because everybody is shut in their rooms, and the hallways are usually dark. Not to mention it's all been renovated and moved in very recently, so there is not much decoration, and it all still smells of paint. It's a bit of a creepy place.

It would be a lot more tolerable if I wasn't the only person in a room with six workplaces.

Yeah. I just had a weird meeting. Girl came into 'my' office. "You work here?" - "Yeah." - "Totally baffled to see somebody in this room." - "Yeah, it's a bit creepy." - "Do you have your transponder already?" - "My what?"
