I and the fiancee just adopted a cat today. Herman. He scared the living shit ouf of us within the first half hour at home, by attempting to jump up through the fireplace's chimney valve! So we're about to seal it. We've stuffed the valve with pillows in the menatime (and I'm on guard duty while she gets the necessasry tools and supplies for a permanent solution). Yikes, it's almost like having a baby!

Let it run in the background while you do other stuff. Unless it's part of your job and you have to sit there and be bored until it's done.

Yeah, I was working at the house so I had other stuff to do (like watch a movie :) ) .. but needed to kick something off when that finished, then call it day ... I hate knowing I have things to do ... makes it hard to relax.

Speaking of adopting animals....the husband and I are adopting a mini lop bunny next Sunday. :D His name is Shadow. He is going to be the first real pet we own so I can only imagine all the fun stuff we'll have to go through with him but from what I understand, taking care of a bunny is pretty easy. I've always wanted a bunny and now, I have my chance to own and take care of one so I'm pretty excited and also a bit nervous at the same time but everyone says I'll do just fine in taking care of him.

My kids are challenging enough :)

I have given up on indoor pets. My dog and cat live outside. We had indoor cats, and they kept fucking with my plants. Funny enough, I have no indoor plants anymore, either.

We babysat a lop named Stu for a week a few years back. (Get it, Rabbit Stu?)
He was about as quiet and easy as you could imagine.

I've decided I want to get a dog, but not until the kids move out of the house.
Kids aren't real happy about that.
But they are enough work on their own. Wouldn't have time for a dog right now.

The husband and I were talking about getting a dog and after we came back from our Cleveland vaction, we were suppose to talk more about it but it just got pushed on the back burner. We're just so unsure about keeping one because of our work schedules. We can surely figure something out as far as that goes but might have to take some more planning. I do work for a pet store and they do allow you to bring in your pets so that would help a little more with our situation but I guess we'll see.

It's been a great weekend and my satisfaction with my life has risen in the last month, but I just can't feel happy for longer periods of time. It's like there's always something missing.

I am glad your satisfaction with life (in general) has risen! Do you think you miss something that might have to do with your interests? Would you like to do/look into/create new things? Perhaps you're discovering what stuff might trigger you. I hope you will find something (or someone!) that may address these feelings. Naturally, you don't have to respond (here) if you don't feel like to. Just helping to find out what could help. :)

We missed your birthday, but I tried to make up for that in a certain topic! (see pm).

One of the best feelings is waking up and freaking out because you think it's Monday, and then realizing that you're wrong. :D

Yep. I woke up and thought "oh fuck I forgot to finish my paper!" and panicked until I realized I didn't have school today.
