Re: The Last Word

Now that we're posting rubbish:

Jag har absolut inget annat för mej än att sitta här och ha tråkigt.

It would help if we all moved to that time zone and watched Sneaky post his 23:58 post.

Assuming that we have all got over our jet-lag (if applicable) and we all can stay up till that time. :D

Then we will all be happy.

Re: The Last Word

Who's talking rubbish?

According to this site, that translates as:

I have definitely no other for mej than sitting here and to have boringly.

*Puts Albie's post through the translator english -> spanish -> english*

¿ Quién está hablando desperdicios?
According to this site, that translates like:
I do not have definitively any other for mej that seating here and to have boring.

:P

And that is why those translator things are "rubbish." It should be "Pendejadas" not, "desperdicios" :smartarse:

Is this a case of the translator translating "rubbish" as "crap" and you translating "rubbish" as "rubbish" - if so, it's not that bad. ;)

But how the Swedish is translated is - well - mind boggling.

Re: The Last Word

Yax is to blame for misspelling "mig" ;)

The phrase "inget annat för mig" would literally translate as "no other for me" - although what it actually means is to have nothing else to do - and "ha tråkigt" does mean "have boringly", while "be/being bored" is how you'd put it in English. So as a word by word translation, it's not too bad.

Here's some Swedish to run through a translator for you:

Får får får?
Nej, får får inte får, får får lamm.

Gets sheep may?
No, sheep gets may not, sheep get lambs.

so - får is "gets" and "sheep" and "may". They say English is confusing!
