9 new towers, that sounds exciting. Are they actually new or are they corporate new?

New out of the box new. Luckily, in my environment, when I put out a new PC, it's almost always out of the box. My goal from last summer til next spring has been to replace all XP machines with Win7 machines. Its freaking cool, we set up a clonezilla clone server, so I build one model, then push it out on all the other towers. I have to install Office and some one off stuff, but it saves a ton of time!

I'm surprised you don't install Office beforehand and then just manually edit the registry from remote servers for CD keys. That's how we did it at OLS where I used to work.

I've been installing 2010, and had tried that once, but then when I'd change the product key, it'd start to 'break'. For some reason, it'd keep popping up asking for the correct key.

At the time, I didn't have the knowledge or time to fix it, so I just started installing it manually. When we move to the next version of Office, I'm pushing for the Enterprise edition, so I can just have one key and not worry about it!

Yeah, that makes sense. It probably saves money to have an Enterprise edition, anyway.

Plus it has an awesome name.

It's a little give and take. For 2010, you have to get Publisher and Access with Enterprise, and we have very few users that need that... so it's a good discount on the product, but it's kinda over kill on our need. Eh. Glad I'm not in charge of budget!! :)

Its kinda nice, i just say "we need this for this reason" and they are pretty good about just giving it to me!

Debating the ticket myself... mixture of reasons. Not sure I'll fully enjoy things but I know I'll regret not going like I am for Priest (although there was no way i couldve done that), so the next issue is transport, back more than there.
