Ask your work if its possible to get off for the Donington show. You never know... It might even be more unlikely the next time they come around, which might not be until after album release(perhaps 2014), and then after that who knows how long they'll keep touring! Just saying

I'm not at work, I know that for definite now. It's partly cash and the fact absolutely nobody I know will go. I'm working on someone but it's a very long way for her

The only thing that would speak against it is the fact that its Download..A big festival. The best way to see Maiden is indoors with their own big show, hands down. But with this set list and the fact that you haven't seen Maiden before you'll no doubt enjoy Download too.

If I hadn't said "fuck that" to my economy and just went - I wouldn't have seen half of the concerts I've seen :D Money comes and goes, Maiden is here for a limited time , you'll have missed your chance if you wait it out too long. Sometimes you just gotta do it if you can.

Have you read all the travel info on the official site? Lots of travel info there, they've got shuttle buses to and from the festival site you just need to get to Derby and follow the crowd :D

Oh, and the transport issue too...
I'll be in Birmingham in June so transport isn't so much of issue as it otherwise would be. However, I doubt I'll be able to get back to Birmingham if the friend I might be going with doesn't have a car by then. That could mean finding a 24 hour supermarket in Derby to kill time in until about 6am.:D

My usual problem with going to gigs/festival, I have gone for the day tickets on my own before but am not a fan of camping on my own. That and as said, transport issues.

I haven't been to a gig in a while for various reasons, and I suspect I would enjoy Maiden while I'm there but the before/after would do more harm than good.

I'm probably gonna go to mayhem fest this year and see Machine Head and Amon Amarth. Atlanta, Georgia baby! Same stage I saw Maiden at too.

There's always this method....:p
