Here we are. To maintain the market share of your company -especially of that kind- you need to give some value to the employees. And a vision if possible.
Profit orientation is ok, but let's not forget the human value. You treat them like slaves, you gonna loose my friend.
Like this former Apple Retail vice president John Browett who as soon as he took the position started to sack people & cut overtimes. In a company with huge growth & billions of cash money.
And then you got Lenovo's CEO Yang Yuanqing who distributed his bonus of 3M$ to the low paid employees. Now, how awesome is that.

Doesn't McD have all that "Career advancement" thing going on within their chain? I don't know much about it...but apparently within McDonalds you can actually work your way up...they have all kinds of crazy titles...!

That sucks. I hate hiccups and for some reason, everyone likes mine because they're 'cute'. ::) I have a squeak to mine.

Here try this: Take a breath in through your nose, hold your breath for 10 seconds then exhale slowly out through your mouth and right after take a drink of water or in this case, maybe beer. :P

But actually I did exactly as you said but just before, perhaps in between (??) and after, I ate a piece of rye bread with chicken. And then I stopped and realized it was gone

I'm happy the method worked for you! :) I've found it doesn't always, especially if you have fast hiccups and you can't get a chance to do any sort of breath holding.

Exactamundo!

Breathing techniques and what not - I'm impressed...and you can cure anything from "cute" hiccups (your specialty) to drunk ones like mine :p
