While you guys were having a great conversation about religion I was in the presence of God.
Lower part of the ski hill shrouded in fog, but the peak extended above the soup; at the summit, the view was spectacular, jagged white peaks poking above a sea of clouds silhouetted against a blue backdrop, as far as the eye could see.
Wish I had a camera so I could have shared it with you all.

EDIT: When I say I don't care, I mean that the 'jesus, god, jehova, yahwe, allah bit doesn't really mean anything to me. I can still be interested and have an opinion of what religion should be.

Not that I care, but I'm astonished to see Christians do the same mistake, regardless brand. And I don't mean Wasted, I mean people that practice and study. So they say.

1. Jesus is not god. Jesus is a prophet, a messenger. Nowhere in the New Testament Jesus claims to be god. Son of God was a cryptic term and had a different meaning in the antiquity, didn't mean god. When Pythagoras was claiming to be son of Apollo, nobody took it literally. Jesus generally -if not always- calls himself Son of Man.
2. There is no difference between Jehova, Yahwe, god and allah (which means god, is not a name as Yahwe). The god is the same in those religions, the ancestor is common (Abraham). In case of Christianity -Judaism the book is even same, some chapters added -removed but the bulk of the book is common. The system to worship is different. Religion is the system, but god is the same. It's more than obvious.

Morning. The kid and I are both down with the flu.
On the plus side, I'm staying at home for the rest of the week.

Anyways, I hope you'll feel better :ok:

I cannot believe it. I have no problem with being a silent, antisocial guy, I'm confident in the way I look, I don't feel the need to act fake to be liked, I don't feel upset when I don't speak or look at the "old girl" (in fact I feel better not caring about her since I've started to notice how annoying she is at times), I don't try to slow myself down to be around and just go straight to the point, I do whatever I want to do which most of the time is just to shut up and keep standing wherever I stand. Mr. Low Self-Esteem is gone.

I feel much lighter, the world looks better now. I'm so fucking glad I got rid of the huge burden I had on my shoulders, felt like sharing it.

I'll split hairs with you on the first part. I'm not going to dig up scripture, but I've always understood that it was fairly widely accepted that Mary bore jesus from virgin birth, that he was the son of god, not figuratively, but literally. Also, Christ was more than a prophet least as far as I understand christianity, he became the path to salvation, and it is only through christ that one can find god. The catholic church (don't forget, that's the original christian church) believes that god, christ and the holy spirit are three-in-one. Sounds pretty godlike to me.

It was once described to me as this: God can be kinda vengful. Christ is his son, he shows up and says "hey, dad can be a dick, but I'm going to take care of him for you. Just come to me, you and I will work it out, and I'll tell dad it's ok."

As far as I know they were quite a few gods, or prophets or whatever you call them that were born from virgins, did miracles & resurrected. But it doesn't matter because this is just dogma; either cryptic stuff (virgin birth), either real stuff (miracles). Everything that is claimed for Jesus has been told /believed /worshiped before. Nothing is new.

So I don't care too much about those popular beliefs that church (or any church) has spread, I only care about what Jesus said. (even if it's obvious that the gospels are multi-layered changed through the years)

And Jesus lived like a man with flesh & blood and claimed that he's the Son of Man. What the followers claim, I don't give a toss. If he was to come again they would have had him crucified again.

I suppose the closest he comes to actually saying that is: John 10: 24-30, where it ends " I and the Father are one."
Also, he quotes himself in John 10: 36 "...because I said, 'I am the son of God'"
There are other implications and from things he was quoted as saying and others as well.

I suppose the only thing that matters is this: Christians believe it.

Hello Moon Child!! One word: Tired. I need to cook.
Plus, tomorrow is a big day we are going to do some important tests, escalating sequences & monitoring results. So I need to study too.

Correct!! That's why I said 'most of the times'
Though the most powerful quote was in front of Caiaphas Matthew 26:64 “You have said so,” Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

In that very moment that Jesus formed his religion. He was not speaking to the judge really, but to the people of the future.
