My worst hangover... hm. I'd say the time I drank vodka/lemonade all night and threw up the whole next morning.

At the moment, I am a nervous dad, watching my youngest try out for a club volleyball team.

Sad news. She didn't make the cut.
It's tough for her, because she loves the game and her older sister is an accomplished player.
A few tears, but she seems to be dealing with it well.
My job is hugs and ice cream.
She's a tough cookie. I'm proud of her.

So what's the worst hangover everyone has had?
I have two I recall as very bad. One was me falling from my bike on the way back (around 15 years ago or something). I opened my chin without realizing it. That night I stayed at my parents (I lived in another city). My mother found me the next day on my bed. "What's with your chin? Why are your clothes still on?"

The other one was with you guys in Berlin. I still don't know how I got in that sleeping back. Actually, I also feel a bit ashamed and regretful because I missed most of the stuff you explained me the next day walking through Berlin. Actually there were three other factors making it worse:
1. I was afraid of this "disease" that was mentioned in Berlin at the time.
2. The day after was Berlin's hottest day of the year.
3. The train to Holland didn't have airconditioning. Instead it had major delay.

I had a great time though.

I am sure she has a great father.

Aw, that's a real shame. Can she try out for another team?

Thanks guys. The other high-level clubs are too far away, but we can probably find her some recreational opportunities closer to home.

strange anxiety all around..

I just spend 25 minutes out in the cold because that access-card reading device that opens the door to the office has been broken. Again. Something was telling me I should stay at home today but why would I listen? <_<

 That's horrible! Sounds like something that would happen to me but luckily we don't have to use access cards to get into the building so something else work related dumb would happen to me. <_<

Here's a question for our nutrition experts. I personally don't really have a preference in lettuce (I suppose my favourite would be lollo rosso, but it's not really a competition), but I generally like to buy iceberg, because it's usually the cheapest and can be stored for a comparatively long time. I've been told many years ago, that it is also the least healthy type. Now I know better than to trust the ramblings of some bloke I met once, but time and again I've received hints that it should not be your lettuce of choice. Can anyone shed light on this?

I am by no means a nutrition expert but here's my explanation on iceberg's poor reputation. Darker types of lettuce have more vitamins and minerals per serving, compared to lighter ones, including iceberg. The latter, like cucumbers, is almost nothing but water. Of course, this does not mean that they contain no vitamins or minerals, they are just is small quantities. This is why some people recommend eating spinach instead of lettuce.

True story. I think that the nutritional value of Iceburg lettuce is close to zero. It does appear to have 10 calories per serving:

In other news, I think that I have finally learned my lesson: Dont Drink Budweiser. I always feel crummy for a couple days after that. I can get Tequila drunk or many other craft beers, but Bud always kills me :(

I have read this as well, the darker and the red leaf lettuce is better for you, iceberg is certainly not bad for you, just not anywhere near as good as the other kinds. I prefer iceberg if I am putting it on a sandwich, because some of the darker ones alter the taste of everything else on it, but I try to use/order the darker ones in a salad

That does make sense. Ironically, I've always thought the darker ones are more tasty anyway, and there's a lot more that you can do with them. Iceberg is just really cheap, and also has more volume than other lettuce heads.
