Sorry, I missed that edit. Who knows? He did not say anything about the three guitars in the interview. :)

Anecdotal evidence: the worst sounding Maiden gig I have been to (in 1998) was with a 2 guitar line-up. It was really difficult to hear any of the guitars as Steve's bass was so loud in the mix that we were treated to a cacophony of feedback for half of the show. :(
I have not experienced that. Venue or other conditions is possible.

From using simple logic, I think next years tour will last from June. (Download) to September (Rock In Rio).

I might be mistaken, but I think they would probably skip Europe altogether. I think the most likely scenario would include a North American tour during the Summer of 2019, followed by South American shows.

There are heavy rumours of them playing Download next year.

So, I think they will do some festivals+some solo gigs (10 gigs) in the 2nd part of June next year, NA in July and early August (20 gigs) and SA in late August and September (10 gigs).

Unless they break out Ed Force one again. That would change everything and would result in 1 or 2 Euro gigs (probably festivals), 15 NA gigs, 10 SA gigs and 10 Asia and Oceania gigs.

Really? Do you have a source for those rumours? Thanks!
People on IMFC forum were speaking about it a few months ago (you are also there, so you should've seen them) and it makes perfect sense. Download, Germany (Bruce said see you next year in Berlin) and a few other Euro countries, extensive US leg and Rock In Rio + Sao Paulo, Santiago, Buenos Aires and one of Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.

Festivals want exclusivety. Next year is the perect chance to deliver that to RIR and Download.

I expect a tour something like this next year.

Late June:
Stuttgart
Frankfurt
Berlin
Hamburg
Antwerp
Download

July/early August:
Ft. Lauderdale
Charlotte
Philadelphia
New Jersey
New York
Quebec
Montreal
Toronto
Columbus
St Louis
Oklahoma City
Dallas
San Antonio
Albuquerque
Calgary
Vancouver
Portland
Los Angeles
Las Vegas
Phoenix
Monterrey
Mexico City

Late August/September

San Jose
Bogota
Lima
Santiago
Cordoba
Buenos Aires
Rock In Rio

36-40 dates. I think it would make perfect sense next year. I also doubt that Maiden will ever miss Europe again, like they did in 2012, especially with their fanclub being the strongest in Germany.

True, but they seem to be rumoured as headliners for Download almost every year! ;) Let's see if Bruce lets the cat out of the bag at the O2. :D
Yeah. But I think there is a high possibility. They headline Download every 3 years or so, so the next year will be 3 since 2016.

And yeah, I think Bruce won't be quiet about it, yeah.

(Yeah? To many yeah's. Yeah. Am I turning into James Hetfield, yeah? Yeah. (shitty filly on the snare) Yeah.)

You need to work on your maths!

2003 to 2007 - 4 years
2007 to 2013 - 6 years
2013 to 2016 - 3 years

I am not a fan of the festival, but if Maiden headline it and that is the only gig I can attend, I guess I will have to be there.

I think thet Download organiser know that this is one of their last chances to get Maiden. As sad as it is, I can't see Maiden playing beyond 5 years from now (at least with Nicko). So next year is a perfect chance to book them, plus Download can get the exclusivity in the UK, which they want.

Again, i doubt that they will ever drop Europe altogether again. They still played here in 2017, despite their main destination being America.

The lack of big headliners probably means Maiden would end up playing there again, much to many UK fans' dismay.

I would argue the reason they played Europe in 2017 was to complete their most successful UK tour ever. ;)

True. And to make up for the fact that they couldn't do a full UK tour in 2016, or at least a few gigs, because they were exclusively contracted to Downpour festival, whose organisers wouldn't allow any other UK gigs.

At least if they do play download there's a high chance of some pro-shot footage for this tour, if only a couple of songs.
