Judas Priest tour announcement coming next month

AFTERGLOW!!!
Revolver: Any plans with PRIEST?

Halford: Yeah, I was talking to PRIEST's management the other day. We had a chitchat about things. We're putting together some shows, we're going to be booked out extensively through 2011 and most of '12. We've got some other things poking around in the fire. And we will be disclosing those through the website. Look for that in December.

Judas Priest

Interesting. Very interesting. Hard to imagine them doing material from Ram it Down and the Ripper Owens albums. Would be cool.

My list:
Rocka Rolla - none
Sad Wings Of Destiny - Victim Of Changes, The Ripper
Sin After Sin - Diamonds & Rust (acoustic)
Stained Class - Exciter, Beyond The Realms Of Death
Killing Machine/Hell Bent For Leather - Hell Bent For Leather, Before The Dawn
British Steel - Breaking The Law, Living After Midnight
Point Of Entry - Heading Out To The Highway
Screaming For Vengeance - The Hellion/Electric Eye, You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Defenders Of The Faith - Some Heads Are Gonna Roll
Turbo - Turbo Lover
Ram It Down - Blood Red Skies
Painkiller - Painkiller, Leather Rebel, Metal Meltdown
Jugulator - none (love the album, but only Ripper should sing songs from it)
Demolition - none (love the album, but only Ripper should sing songs from it)
Angel Of Retribution - Hellrider, Lochness
Nostradamus - Persecution, Nostradamus, Future Of Mankind

What? Ram It Down has some great tracks IMO, but there are some horrible ones on there that let it down. Seems like a bit of a waste, playing only one from albums like Painkiller and Screaming for Vengeance.

An ideal setlist for me:

No particular order:

1: Rocka Rolla
2: Victim of Changes (hard to choose between that and the ripper)
3: Diamonds and Rust
4: Exciter
5: Evening Star
6: Metal Gods
7: Don't Go
8: Devil's Child
9: Freewheel Burning
10:Out in The Cold
11:Ram It Down
12: Assuming they do Painkiller and A Touch of Evil aside from the regulars, I pick Metal Meltdown with awesome guitar solo.
13: Blood Stain
14: One on One
15: Loch Ness
16: Skip Nostradamus and do another British Steel song.

My list:
Rocka Rolla - Run of the Mill
Sad Wings Of Destiny - Dreamer Deceiver
Sin After Sin - Here Come the Tears
Stained Class - Saints in Hell
Killing Machine/Hell Bent For Leather - Running Wild
British Steel - Metal Gods
Point Of Entry - Heading Out To The Highway
Screaming For Vengeance - Fever
Defenders Of The Faith - Some Heads Are Gonna Roll (I said some heads!)
Turbo - Reckless
Ram It Down - Blood Red Skies
Painkiller - One Shot at Glory
Jugulator - Death Row
Demolition - Bloodsuckers
Angel Of Retribution - Hellrider
Nostradamus - Future of Mankind

Not a waste when other songs get a chance to be played.

My list with 1 song from every album (no British Steel songs as they play lots from it and they played it all, 2 years ago):

Run Of The Mill
Dreamer Deceiver
Raw Deal
Savage
Before The Dawn
Solar Angels
Pain And Pleasure
Night Comes Down
Hot For Love
Heart Of A Lion (from Turbo sessions. A classic gem!!!)
Fire Burns Below
One Shot At Glory
Blood Stained
In Between or Lost And Found
Worth Fighting For
New Beginnings

They are thinking of playing material from EVERY studio album!!! http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbe ... mID=153998 That would be SO AWESOME!!!!!
  :innocent:

Rocka Rolla
Victim of Changes or Tyrant
Call for the Priest (Underrated and fantastic early speed-metal!)
Stained Class (To be honest I find Stained Class the album overrated)
Killing Machine
I don't want to hear anything from British Steel ever again to be perfectly honest.  Maybe Rapid Fire if I had to choose.
Don't Go
Devil's Child
The Sentinel or Some Heads
Locked In, but if we're talking outtakes too then Heart of a Lion, my favorite Priest song!
Heavy Metal
Night Crawler
Don't own Ripper albums
Judas Rising
Nostradamus

Edit: Forgot Point of Entry

Nostradamus
Isn't that a rehash of "Prophecy". I only listened to that album 3 or 4 times and I never touched it again. In fact, now that I think of it. I don't even know where it is. I honestly haven't seen it since then. I'm gonna look for it and perhaps give it another play.

I don't think so.  I never really liked the album but the title track was the one song I replayed a lot.

Run Of The Mill
Dreamer Deceiver
One Shot At Glory

:rocker:

Run of the Mill made such a beautiful impression when I heard it the first time, while playing my "Hero, Hero" double LP. It's still as beautiful as ever.

A very mesmerizing song, with such an incredibly stimulating bass line. The build-up of KK's solo is astounding (while a soft atmospheric organ slowly joins), and so are Halford's emotional vocals. One of the best songs ever.

For the people who wonder what I am talking about, go and listen --> "Run of the Mill" (the sound doesn't come close to the sound of the vinyl, but you get an idea).

Thanks Foro, I'm really looking forward to the show.  :shred:

About ROTM - easily the best song on the under-rated debut. Rob's vocals are so meaningful. And the lyrics are absolutely beautiful.

This is how I imagine the setlist:

Exciter
Run Of The Mill
Nostradamus
War
A Touch Of Evil
The Hellion / Electric Eye
Victim Of Changes
Desert Plains
Beyond The Realms Of Death
Painkiller
The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)
Visions
You've Got Another Thing Comin'
The Sentinel
Diamonds And Rust
-------------------
Screaming For Vengeance
Breaking The Law
The Ripper

My first Priest show was near Seattle WA in May of 1984.
Nearly 25,000 fans (at the time, I believe it was a record crowd for a regular Priest-headlined tour show.)
I was 16. It was a road trip with six or eight friends and they were my favourite band at the time.
Probably my most memorable concert ever.

This was the set list:
Love Bites
Jawbreaker
Grinder
Metal Gods
Breaking the Law
Sinner
Desert Plains
Some Heads Are Gonna Roll
The Sentinel
Rock Hard, Ride Free
Night Comes Down
The Hellion
Electric Eye
Heavy Duty
Defenders of the Faith
Freewheel Burning
Victim of Changes
The Green Manalishi
Living After Midnight
Hell Bent for Leather
You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Since then I've seen them four more times and Rob solo twice.

You are relatively likely to see: The Hellion / Electric Eye, Victim Of Changes, Painkiller, The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown), You've Got Another Thing Comin'
The Sentinel, Diamonds And Rust, Breaking The Law
And unlikely to see: Run Of The Mill, Nostradamus, War, Visions
But they pulled out some surprises on the Nostradamus tour, so we may get some others this time.

I'm 16 too. LOL!!!

I read an interview somewhere (blabbermouth, I think). Glenn said that the set-list will surprise most of the fans, mainly because they are gonna play songs they never played before.

I'm expecting at least one song from every album (minus Ripper era).

My high favorites are:

The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)
Desert Plains
Beyond The Realms Of Death
Run Of The Mill

I listed at least 3 Nostradamus songs because that was their newest album, and I think it's obvious for them to play some songs from it...
