Ozzy should've retired after No More Tears - his last good album and very worth listening. It all went downhill for him after that.

Guitarist Tony Iommi has told U.K.'s Terrorizer magazine that the four original members of BLACK SABBATH recently got together in a rehearsal room for the first time in years, adding, "[We] played some of the old stuff and to be together again was great. We're all on good terms and we're at a stage where we can play together again. It would be good if we could and I suppose it's the closest it's been to be able to do that. It could happen!"

He did retire! The tour was called "No More Tours", but he found retirement life too boring. Besides, you can choose not to listen to anything post No More Tears... I don't really get the "quit while you're on top" sentiment. You please a lot more people by continuing even if you don't top your best work. Most importantly, in Ozzy's case, he pleases himself - And millions of fans.

(and I don't really like Ozzy that much anyway).

Should an athlete who wins a championship retire? Sure, some do. But most want to play another season and get another trophy.

Who's to say Ozzy shouldn't be trying to top No More Tears?

Wow. First time I'm genuinely excited about this, since something is finally going on.

Hope it's a new album. I'm really curious to see what they could come up with. Both Iommi and Ozzy have covered a lot of ground musically since Never Say Die, and Ozzy in particular has greatly improved as a studio singer since then. (Live is always a different beast.)

It's Official: Original BLACK SABBATH Lineup To Reunite For New Album, World Tour

The original lineup of the legendary heavy metal band BLACK SABBATH — Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums) — has reunited and will release a brand new album in 2012. The group's first studio effort in 33 years will be produced by Rick Rubin, who has previously worked with METALLICA, SLIPKNOT, SLAYER and SYSTEM OF A DOWN, among many others. A world tour will follow, including an appearance at the U.K.'s Download festival on June 10, 2012. BLACK SABBATH's reunion was officially confirmed a few minutes ago during a special announcement ceremony at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California — the same venue where the band made its Los Angeles debut on November 11, 1970 (41 years ago), opening for ALICE COOPER. All four original members of the legendary heavy metal group attended the event, which was hosted by former BLACK FLAG frontman Henry Rollins.

The Ozzy-fronted lineup of SABBATH hasn't toured since 2005 and last appeared together when they were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006. They attempted to cut a new album — their first since 1978's "Never Say Die!" — with Rick Rubin in 1999, but the sessions fell apart after just a couple of songs and Osbourne turned his attention to his solo career.

Fantastic news. Can't wait for the album and I wish I'll get a chance to see them live.
 
I for one am pretty excited about this! Especially the tour. A new album will be sweet too, but to see the original BS will be so legendary and epic!
 
Black Sabbath would be great if they had someone who had at least half decent vocals. I've never been a fan of Ozzy and never will.
 
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Canadian tour. At the same time, the thought of putting any of my hard earned money into Sharon Osbourne's coffers makes me pause for thought... I have a dislike for this woman that might put principles before pleasure... this will require some pondering...
