Iron Maiden video interviews / shows

A short interview with Adrian talking about the making of the Silver and Gold video followed by the rest of the video itself:

Is it just me or does it seem like he might have felt a bit awkward or embarrassed trying to explain it? He seems to be stumbling over his words a bit. I think its pretty funny .

Naaah, that's just the way he used to speak back then. If you watch other old videos, you will notice the same thing. He's much more used to being in front of cameras these days.

Oh believe me, I'm aware. I've watched plenty of old interviews with him :D. I just think funny how he was back then compared to how he is now on camera. Such a difference!

Adrian on Eddie Trunk's radio show. Haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but I'm sure it's great.

I just heard it and there are a few very interesting things Adrian says. Just wondering - it says part 1, what about any other parts?

Glad you two liked it :D

Here's part two (uploaded while I was sleeping)

Interesting how Trunk mentions Janick's onstage presence. He was respectable and honest about it, in my opinion. And Adrian did a good job explaining it.

I really liked this interview, there was some really interesting stuff about the Brave New World era. They even spend quite a bit of time talking about Psycho Motel, something I didn't expect.

Yeah, I really liked it too. Definitely alot of interesting things discussed. I liked hearing what Adrian had to say and hear his side on different subjects especially about Janick.

Very interesting Mosh, thanks. In part 1 he talks about doing an instrumental album. I may take some exaggerated pride in the following, but that's exactly what he confirmed to me when I asked him about it via a Q&A session the Maiden site did around that time. I am still waiting for that instrumental album. ;-)

I really like Adrian's answer to the guy who said he was disappointed about seeing not many Smith in the BNW credits. Adrian destroys the questioner's bias within an eyewink by telling honestly about how he experienced his return in the band.

Also he handles Trunk's bias for classic Maiden and ignorance about newer stuff pretty well. Trunk didn't know much about Psycho Motel (mixes up albums, didn't even know they were older ones). He's the one who should know and gets paid for it. Also his antipathy vs new Thin Lizzy doesn't suit him well. Again his bias for the past is in his way. It also shows when he is the voice of the complainers about the BNW toursetlist.

And in part 2: when Trunk says something doesn't fit ("Janick visually doesn't fit Iron Maiden"), his limited imagination shows up again. Sometimes, Mr. Trunk, things are possible in a different way than in your not very broadminded view.

I thought Trunk's comments on Janick's stage behaviour were totally unnecessary. Besides, it was also rude to speak like this while Adrian was there. He could say whatever he wants, it's his show after all, but does he expect that any member of Maiden would just stay there and let him ramble about another member and say nothing about it?
