I just saw that this game is on again. I see that you're at the last album, and by seeing only reunion-era songs, I'd guess that this survivor is done in groups of albums? Anyone care to explain the principle?

The game goes with the chronological order of the albums. Each album gets added as rounds pass by. When there are only two songs remaining from an album, those songs get promoted. Game moves onto the next album when the remaining number of songs on the poll is down to 10. The surviving 10 at the end gets joined by songs that have been promoted before and the games moves on to the next rounds from there.

Main principle is vote for Wild Wind Blows and not Starblind

See the post on the first page, Mosh set out all the rules there.

Is it a new album bias, or do you guys seriously think that TGU or DOG are better than WTWWB?

It's also people getting antsy to eliminate each album down to 2 songs. They'd rather get rid of TFF stuff and then focus on TBOS, which often means voting for songs that are technically better than ones you aren't voting for.

Part of it is that the novelty of TFF has faded, I think, and people are more impressed by TBOS. Whether that enthusiasm fades remains to be seen. I've never been a major fan of Wild Wind, I find it a little too bleak. I'm fine when Maiden do apocalyptic, but WTWWB practically goes out with the whisper.

Agreed. The strongest songs on BOS greatly surpass WTWWB to me, and I also think it's too bleak. I like my Maiden upbeat, and I enjoy the emotion they put in their riffs and such, but WTWWB, while a good song, doesn't have a vibe I really enjoy.

I rate TFF way higher than TBoS, but all of my favorites off TFF have been eliminated, barring Starblind. (Namely, Isle of Avalon, Mother of Mercy and Coming Home)

The only song on TFF that has stuck with me over the last five years has been Talisman. Bruce's vocal range and the musical power blows me away every time. Avalon, Starblind, and to a lesser extent WTWWB are all quality, but the strong songs on BOS (Eternity, TRATB, BOS, and Empire) are all better.

My favorite songs on TBOS beat everything on TFF except Avalon and Starblind.
