Why all the hate for Hooks and Daughter? I mean, they’re no Legacy, but I always enjoy them and think of them as “Maiden going back to basics done right with good melody”. In fact, Daughter is probably my third favourite song off the album, behind the title cut and Public Enema.
That number of votes is just absurd, especially considering Holy Smoke has only nine and Run Silent has five… :huh:

Completely agreed on both accounts. Holy smoke is a decent, fun song. Daughter is the worst song on the album.
 
Smoke, Prayer, Public, Assassin, Hooks

I struggled with this, NPFTD was the first 'new' Maiden album I heard so I have a soft spot for it, despite the fact that it is utter goat at times.

So many tracks have bits I love combined with bits I hate eg, Public Enema - awful name, decent verse, terrible chorus.
I love the riffy lead bits of Prayer but could do without the verse. It would be my favourite of the 5 I picked.

Assassin and Hooks are just plain pish IMO. And Run Silent is a cracker! Despite the chorus...
