No More Lies
Dream of Mirrors
Alexander the Great (I've been re-listening to this song and starting to appreciate it more again... but it is damn tough at this point)

Journeyman plus the two unoriginal songs: The Nomad & No More Lies

I know the case of The Nomad, but what's unoriginal in NML?

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor 2010: Dance Of Death round 3 (Oct 23-24)

No More Lies has an overused instrumental part (already done in Judgement of Heaven and The Educated Fool).
Just play the instrumental midpieces of these three tracks in a row and you'll see what I mean:

1. Judgement of Heaven
2. The Educated Fool
3. No More Lies

Certain guitar melodies in the sections of the last two songs show huge lack of inspiration.
I don't like it when Maiden blatantly re-uses parts for new songs.

Maybe I should say "songs with unoriginal sections" instead of "unoriginal songs" but you get my point of view.

All right, I see what you mean.  I hadn't really recognised the similarity before, at least not consciously.

Re: Iron Maiden Survivor 2010: Dance Of Death round 3 (Oct 23-24)

Maybe I did because I got to know these albums in chronological order, but it might have nothing to with it.

There's no disputing that it's totally there, though I'd prefer to call it more variations on the same theme.
Or maybe it's just that I've always happened to absolutely love all three sections and never really connected them before.

Wow, I thought it was only a HBTN reference...

At 1:06:

"Mark my words believe my soul lives on.
Don't worry now that I have gone.
I've gone beyond to see the truth.
"

Great find! ;)

This is perfectly biased... but the appreciation of Edge of Darkness went down after realizing how much of the movie dialogue it copies, while The Nomad is still very high on my list even though the slow interlude instrumental is borrowed from Beckett.  Weird how Hallowed has remained untouched on my list of greatness.  Must be because I found love for The Edge of Darkness before I saw Apocalypse Now, while my love for the other two songs was still growing while I realized their influences.  Just pondering.
