Iron Maiden Sells Half of Their Catalog, Name And Likeness Rights to Pophouse Entertainment

You paint a grim, corporate, sickeningly commercial picture in previous posts and yah, it all makes sense and if it were any other band I'd probably agree wholeheartedly. But I dunno, it's Maiden. I'm sure they love coin as much as the next band but I honestly can't see Pophouse telling them what to do in any way in terms of tour themes. I just can't see it. Surely that's part of the deal.

Pophouse will get their cut from all the merchandising nonsense and the Eddie spin offs but as long as the band is still together I can't see anyone other than Rod, Bruce and Steve making the big calls in regards to tours/albums.

I expect maybe we'll see more Maiden in films and adverts maybe. I wonder if Beast being played during England's World Cup halftime coverage was part of this whole thing.

I can live with that. I can ignore it all, it doesn't effect me.

Also, what changes from Nicko? Not nitpicking, just can't think. Although I did see an interview with Nicko about his new snare line, 666 pieces and he said was saying that they had to work stuff out for using Eddie on the drums and he said "they were very good about it." The use of 'they' stood out. Plus, what the fuck, it's 666 drums for Nicko, I hope by being "good" he means that he didn't have to pay for the use of Eddie.
 
Yes, I don't think anybody needs to be afraid Steve Harris and Rod Smallwood are going to allow themselves to be pushed around. This is going to be a good thing, and hopefully Maiden will get a much needed kick in the behind regarding releasing archive stuff and get around to it. The Metallica box sets have been unreal, for instance.

Their involvement in the upcoming concert film can only be positive, considering Maiden's track record with this being rather uneven.

With stuff like the Trooper beer and a mobile phone game it's clear that Maiden's image isn't this sacred thing that will be tainted by more merchandise. I get that this is unprecedented and big news, but personally I'm completely fine with it. Let the boys cash in and secure the financial freedom for their employees and families, and maybe while we're at it we'll finally see some vault releases.

They have sold 50% of the merchandise,music and so. So steve rod and the band will be there. They have money now in advance for years of "use their catalogue or what they have".

Its like in 40 years steve bruce and the rest of the band will not "enjoy" if maiden are famous or not. Give me thr money now and % of what you win exploding "the mark" . Yes its a bit sad but as we said maybe we will see more live cds.

dude in 40 years they'll be dead. if not we should start searching for that contract they signed in blood with the devil or something...

Thats what im trying to say.
1. That company pays for the music,eddie and so to use it for decades
2. Maiden in decades will no longer exist
3. We dont know how many people will listen to maiden un 40 years.
4. Maiden have sold 50% of the rights and im sure im the next years will sell more.

I was looking what they have realased since pophouse has their rights but i dont find anything. They only thing the avatars tour. I really hopr maiden dont do that
 
My question is when maiden had retired.....wil they become a famous old band. Well some old bands they have retired just years ago. But lets compare them with the bealtes,elvis ....all retired long time ago. Are there more elvis or beatles listeners now than in the 60s? Maiden will reach that ststus. My answer is no, maiden is a live show band.. when they retire people will still listen to them but no more than nowadays.
