The other name of Bruce is Radagast The Brown. And as in The Hobbit movie, he has a bird's nest placed on the top of his head under the cap. By wearing it, the cap, he's just protecting Woodstock and his fellows that are huge baseball fans.

There are not that many reasons a man would wear a baseball cap or beanie hat most of the time regardless of the weather...

Yes, I know. More seriously, maybe Bruce is becoming bald on the top of his head and that could explain why he has to wear a cap on this TV set... His bald spot was already quite evident a couple of years ago. Quite ironic considering how he made fun of bald people at some of his book monologue shows when he had started growing his hair long again…

Bruce is making fun of everyone else but himself, that's quite obvious. As he explained recently in an interview about his years into the boarding school, to protect himself from every agression he had to face to in the past, he swelled with pride and showed off. Imho, he kept this behaviour unconsciously until now and in every situation where he feels uncomfortable, he jokes, he becames ironic and sarcastic and makes fun about other people. He made fun about bald people because deep down he is afraid of losing his hair and going bald. And making fun of something he's frightened of is like a shield that can protect him from the thing he's scared about. At least, he thinks that.
