I was like "hmm... but what songs do maiden have that are about electronic warfare :/" then I looked at it again and realised how obvious it was that it was nothing to do with it being a plane and/or it's purpose.

That being said, I didn't recognize the plane. I guess my father would have, he's a serious aircraft geek. I wouldn't be surprised if he has drawings for a scale model of that plane.
For the uninitiated and non-geeky, the plane is a Grumman EA-6B Prowler.
