A drifter is a synonym for a tramp (I thought about hinting at White Lion, then I felt it would have been too cryptic), a homeless person. Besides, just before the picture, I wrote "Here I go again", which is a Whitesnake song whose lyrics have seen a change (from "hobo" to "drifter") between the 1982 version and the 1987 version.
