Iron Maiden on American Idol

Onhell, just wait until Simon Cowells new idea is unleashed on American TV - The X Factor. It superseded Pop Idol in the UK so, could it do the same in the US? Judging by American Idol's popularity, I'm not sure.

Though the difference between The X Factor and the Idol's is that contestants have no age limit on the former.

The X Factor has also come to Norway (a year or so ago). I never watch it. As stated earlier, I got enough of Idol after the first season of it, and since X Factor is more of the same I don't want to expose myself to it.

According to posters, it's coming to Germany too. I don't watch very much TV, so I wouldn't be able to tell you.

You've got RTL in the Netherlands too?   I know the "L" stands for Luxembourg, but I'm still quite surprised. The shadow of evil follows you wherever you go.

Anyway: Je hebt waarschijnlijk niet de juiste software geïnstalleerd waardoor wij de video niet kunnen afspelen. (I even understand that, I think)

Incidentally, some people who have no use for metal point this out to me when they realise I'm a metalhead - some bloke growling I Will Kill You by Cannibal Corpse on German Idol. It's funny to see how nobody seems to be able to place it in any way.

You're welcome.

I'm very entertained by the fact that Onhell's main argument is that American Idol singers don't have a live band backing them.

I mean you'd think you might, you know, know what you're talking about.  But here we are.

clearly you haven't seen American Idol... they DON'T have live bands unless it is a "special challenge" which is ONE maybe two episodes of the entire season... once again there you are... stop criticizing for the sake of it and know your subject or shut up.

LOL. Start a fan club, be the president. just imagine what a signed picture of bat-boy is worth on eBay :p

I understand the meaning of that as well, but if I didn't know a little German I wouldn't. Some words are close enough to Norwegian, but waarschijnlijk (or wahrscheinlich) would be too different.

Um...are you actually talking about American Idol?  As in, the show that is broadcast by Fox in the United States?  I'm thinking we are talking about two different shows here.

Because American Idol, from the very first live show, has a live backing band.

It's weird even debating this, it's not really a matter of opinion.

Yeah, der erste Privatsender, der einen Sendeplatz im niederländischen Kabel erhielt. ;)

Since 1989. :/
I hardly have it on, only when they have live qualification football matches, from the national team.

Ai, too bad that you can't play it. It means (not literally unfortunately, I'm struggling with "waardoor" -> "whereby" sounds strange in this sentence?): "You probably don't have installed the right software and therefore we(!) cannot play the video."

Hahaha!
The Dutch Idol probably never had any metal.

Doesn't matter the country or the language, I fucking hate that show. I hate every single thing about it. As for that cover: MUCK!!!

The only thing worth watching on the show is the first couple episodes, when the judges screen thousands of people around the company and the show's editors focus on the more entertaining fuck-ups.  And that's only if you're partial to carny freaks.

Those are always entertaining.  And seeing people who obviously and painfully have no talent who go on live TV to show how bad they are is just classic.

As for that cover, it is OK.  Not great, not bad.
