I had joked that with the guest appearance with Pantera, Bruce managed to pick the most controversial show of the moment.
Now I just had the thought that Leana (Bruce???) may not have been able to forgive Phil Anselmo for a drunken mistake, but thought what he did was fine or even admirable?
I hope that's total nonsense.
 
Yeah, I was also reminded of the Pantera thing. Bruce clearly didn't know the song, so I still don't think he was trying to send any kind of message with that. Now, I do have a teeny tiny suspicion of Leana endorsing Phil's action (if she's even aware of stuff like that).

And just because not enough people have blocked me here's what I posted on Facebook today and I fully intend to stand by it.

Integrity is hard. You got my respect. Iced Earth used to be my second favorite band (after Maiden, duh) and one of my largest inspirations both as a guitarist and a songwriter, but once I saw Jon participating on Jan 6th that was it for me.

With Bruce I'm still hanging onto a sliver of hope that he doesn't share the idiotic beliefs of his wife.

I understand what you are saying and I would love nothing more than to be proved wrong. But would you marry someone with such views, would you spend your entire life with someone who holds those views, if you were not in agreement, even partly? And when you are the singer of the biggest metal band on the planet, you would at least ask her not to make such idiotic posts if you didn't at least partly agree. I have forgiven a lot to Bruce in the past (Brexit and other things), but it's time to take our heads out of the sand and recognize him for what he is. And yes typing thay, fucking hurts.

If your ‘values’ and ‘beliefs’ are wishing death upon people then it’s probably best to keep that private. Or between yourself and your psychiatrist.

If you can’t keep it private, then the entertainment business probably isn’t for you.

To be fair, the chant was "Death, Death to the IDF", not to Israelis or Jews in general. To their military, who is actively enacting a genocide in broad daylight. Is it in poor taste? Maybe, but I'm not gonna judge someone who takes a stand against genocide harshly.

The world is descending into fascism, while we are tut tutting about bad words.
