Iron Maiden News, Links, and Interviews

No, it's not a joke...

This is going to be utter shite but I'm still watching it.

Has anyone seen The Chemical Wedding movie and is it as bad as I've heard?

The Chemical Wedding film is pretty bad (generous review), although worth watching for Simon Callow’s performance alone. I sold the DVD some months ago; otherwise, I would have sent it to you, thanking you for helping me get rid of it.

So they (at least) did something for the album's 40th anniv. Nice. Bruce is behind this idea, like for his upcoming solo album graphic novel. It seems the book will also feature stories based on each song, including writing from Bruce and Rod.

It's not my preferred art style, but we have an artwork with Eddie for every song, which is great.

Bruce: ''When the idea of a Piece of Mind 40th Anniversary graphic novel first came up, I felt it was the perfect medium to expand outside the confines of the songs and to create new storylines and new dimensions through short form narrative and imagery. With ‘Revelations,’ it allowed me to add more layers and dimensions to the lyrics and add a new twist.
Equally as exciting was bringing together some of the top writers and illustrators in the industry who are all actual fans of the band, to add their own creative ideas inspired by the songs, Eddie, and the album itself. Z2 did a tremendous job in pulling this all together to create more than just a graphic novel, it’s what I consider a work of art
''.

If they released, say, a show from 83 as well as a comic that would have been really, really nice. But just a comic isn't what I personally want.

Yeah, it's like a book with good or not so good artwork with testimonials of irrelevant people.
Anyway I would like they ask Derek Riggs to do the cover at least. Bloody bastards...

I'm Maiden fan because it's my favorite band since 13. (killer instinct…) but I didn't buy the 40th edition of Iron Maiden or The Number of the Beast, I regret to buy the Senjutsu Box Set (although it was very cheap) I won't buy the Bruce new album and I'll wait for a bargain someday like his back catalogue. I won't buy this book because it's not my kind of thing. I'll wait for the next studio album CD only, not box sets or something like that.

Iron Maiden is becoming a huge money machine releasing a lot of useless items... This comic is one of them... I prefer beers, they're more tasty.

A live release from 1983 would have been great, I agree with you. But, the comic is utterly useless. It's just a thing for kids, not for adults.

You hit the nail right on the head, although there’s a big market of comics for adults (although they like to call them graphic novels).

I do enjoy some graphic novels myself, but from a heavy metal band celebrating the 40th anniversary of an iconic album I expect music instead.

Bruce has missed the opportunity to endorse the release of some wrinkle cream now that the pimple cream days are a thing of the past.
