Check.  One of the hardest rounds so far, nearly all of them took quite a bit of thinking.

Alexander the Great is a Damned Ace among the Evil Brothers of Thousand_Suns.

The Blood songs are at 10-1 at the moment. I don't think one of these songs is much better than the other.
Instead I think that the people who voted for Blood Brothers are (extra) infected by Maiden's recent live performance and/or have a liking for this sweeter, softer, more melancholic sounding side of Maiden, a less complex song played in a constant tempo. A matter of taste.

My taste leads me towards a different direction. Without a second of doubt I choose for more variation and more excitement: Blood on the World's Hands. Reason: This is an awesome and intense performance, from beginning till end. These intelligent (and heavy at the same time!) riffs are unprecedented. So many strong elements are going on. We have the intriguing Arabic flavor in the melodies, the striking solos and last but not least: Blaze is so much into this, you really feel that he's very driven during this delivery.

You're right, I was at least affected by the live performance, but I'm quite sure I'd have voted the same before this summer.  I like the other song too, though, it's one of my favourites from The X Factor.

I'm quite surprised that so many pairings are so unbalanced in votes.  I would have thought e.g. Dance of Death vs BTATS or Afraid to Shoot Strangers vs Alexander (probably the hardest vote of the bunch) to be fairly even, but instead they're 10-4 and 11-3.

Re: Iron Maiden "Head-to-Head" Song Tournament (Round 4: Group B)

New group of songs are up! Surprisingly easy picks compared to the last round... my choices:

Dream of Mirrors
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Infinite Dreams
Paschendale
Revelations
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Revelations vs RotAM was the one that probably demanded the most thought.

If you have read my words on the Commentary Board about Genghis Khan (and my slight criticism on the studio version of Hallowed) you'll see my passion for this song. I can't help it. Go trash me.  :)

Haha, I won't :D...

Don't get me wrong, I love Khan, but after so much praises for Hallowed here and there, I expected Khan getting as much votes over Hallowed as the jonass brothers over MAIDEN :)

That one demanded the least thought. 0 seconds to be precize.

FOTD vs Dream of Mirrors and Paschendale vs Phantom of the Opera I found more difficult.

Re: Iron Maiden "Head-to-Head" Song Tournament (Round 4: Group B)

Hallowed be the infinite dark rime of the ancient seventh son of Paschendale.

Especially the former, since those two both are around 15th-20th on my favourites list, where tracks change position depending on my mood. Paschendale vs Phantom was not as difficult, but it was much more painful. Voting against POTO will always hurt, even though it is in favour of another top class song.
