Re: Iron Maiden "Head-to-Head" Song Tournament (Round 5: Group A)
Those three were exactly the toughest ones so you know my taste well.
On the other hand, I've always been in love with ATSS, and its live performance and the impression it made must have helped. This is really "my era" song, and my favourite Maiden song of the nineties.
No Prayer vs Fortunes of War was also difficult, I quite like both songs. I prefer the melodies in No Prayer, but the first couple of minutes (before the acceleration) from Fortunes I like a lot as well. Blaze is doing a nice job and the later instrumental section is pretty strong too. In the end I decided to compare the less strong moments, and the instrumental part in the title track was decisive.
Isle of Avalon is probably my one but favourite song from the latest album, just like Ghost is mostprobably my one but favourite song from BNW. Very tough. I decided to choose Avalon because of its suspenseful build-up. I really find it refreshing, and the production of the Three Amigos is breathtaking.
