Iron Maiden Album Art Showdown

Funnily enough the Rock In Rio cover, while following a similar idea to BNW, is not even close to being as good. Something about the shape of the stage and Eddie's eyes makes it look kinda goofy. En Vivo tried another variation with its own Eddie and it worked better than RiR.

I used to love the En Vivo! cover but over time I’ve come to prefer Rock in Rio’s. We’ll see how well one of the does in just a couple ladders.

Participation has kind of died down so I’m happy to update today unless some of the previous game’s regulars wanna pop in! @Magnus @Lamia020281 @Saapanael or anyone else who wants to throw some points to three of these six covers!

I’m also really digging the discussions here, love to see y’all’s thoughts on em.

LAD '92 is not the coolest, but it's a striking Eddie, the background works. Virus wins it because of the colors, it's just the head (the best from the 3). Early Days is a cool idea, despite the CGI, at least it's interesting enough.

Visions Of The Beast is not that bad (but with the proper font, why it wasn't used? It could have been stronger, no doubt), BBC Archives is not interesting (despite the colors), and IM remaster is not better than the original, but still is good.

Much less stacked than the previous ladder. I’ve always liked Donington’s remastered cover, granted it got lucky here because the competition ain’t shit but I’m glad it’s getting a little love here. “Virus” is a fun one, love the colors.

After that it’s hard to figure out what to give the last point. BBC Archives is fun but not great. History Pt. 1 is a cool concept but I’m not blown away by it. Visions is such a nothingburger. That leaves the remastered debut as probably the third best option here. It probably gets that off the back of the OG which we’ll see later in the game, but whatever.

Man, this round is a trainwreck lol

This version of Virus is awesome. Cool concept and great looking Eddie. That was easy.

Donington is a bit unorthodox, but I always had a soft spot for that one. Was among the first albums I ever purchased myself.

I'm one of the few who likes the 98 version of the debut cover more than the original. It's still not particularly great, but the OG is a bit too goofy for my tastes. Guess I needed to be there to appreciate it.

The rest either sucks or isn't too interesting.
