Iron Maiden 2026 Nominees Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

I really don't care for either way.

I understand the point raised in this topic about the induction of Maiden potentially adding up to the band's product & metal as genre, but at the same time, however, I kind of question its significance too. Like, outside the annual headlines of this and that band being nominated/inducted to this "Hall of Fame", I fail to see how much it really solidifies and contributes to the market value and status of these bands and artists in the end. I don't think Iron Maiden, or most of the bands mentioned in these RRHOF discussions, are any more or less remembered whether or not they are inducted to this "Hall of Fame." Their legacy & popularity, Maiden's especially, is built on everything but this Hall of Fame nonsense.

I doubt that the ceremony itself brings that many new listeners either, but I could also be terribly wrong. Just speaking from my experience, as a Hall of Fame induction or the lack of it has had zero significance on my listening habits or the amount of attention this or that band/artist has received from me. All the people I ever talk about music with have agreed on this too. But we might very well be in the minority!

Generally, you are right, but we think about States - it's an American market, accolade, and mentality. This year IM has a real chance to be inducted with the other 7 or 8 artists.

I think it's now or never this year. They are on their 50th anniversary tour in the US this year so that's a plus I think. But they've fallen way behind in the fan vote I see. Last two times they finished in the top 7. It's still early though. If I recall if they finish in the top 7 that gets them one official ballot towards induction.

WIll be interesting to see what happens if they do get inducted. I suspect it will be the same kind of induction that Priest got though. Would be funny if only Dennis shows up. (I could see Nicko being there as well)

I know its the RnR HoF but I never not liked seeing Maiden get awards/accolades/props whether they cared about it or not. I consider it justification since the US radio largely ignored them.
