Iommi + Eurovision

Incidentally, why don't you just listen to the way Bruce pronounces it in Out of the Silent Planet? It's not the same as the guy in the vid, but it's also not the same as in the Oxford links.

Have to say I was not overly impressed with the song either because as you said, didn't think it fit the singers voice.

Naturally there are Canadians on this forum who would be better to comment but I can't say I ever considered their pronunciation to be different from the english I'm used to either >.>

This is probably completely irrelevant to this discussion, but there's more than one UK pronunciation of 'a'. Mine is Northern English and nothing at all like the BBC/Home Counties English.

I quite like Eurovision entrants to sing in their native language

There actually is or has been such a thing in Germany. I remember Rage participated in one entry.

Midlands would be awesome with all those metal bands from Birmingham. Of course, I wouldn't expect metal to win tho.

There are bands like Kaiser's for us around here but not too much metal. Some decent song writers though for yorkshire, Robert Palmer could probably write something that would be catchy enough to win ;)
Wiki on the other hand clearly has some continuity problems :P http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bands_and_musicians_from_Yorkshire_and_North_East_England claims whitesnake are from leeds, and their page says middlesborough ^^.

I am indeed, judging by posts of yours in 100k thread I'm probably not too far away from you ^^, or you were temporarily visiting the area :P

Wait a minute.
I go,away for few days and you're laughing at Canadian accents?
Does LC know about this?

No. Most countries just send the most ridiculous artist they can find and see what happens.

I used to skip the song parts and watch televoting only. I was a fan of the graphics and the way countries moved up and down :p
