He's quite famous, you know. Although I suppose I could name more European politicians from that era if I had to, his name is - like I said before - the obvious first one.

Also, it is suspected by genealogists that every person of European descent alive today is descended from Charlemagne - possibly even most non-Europeans too. I've done the research for my case, and I know that I am descended from him (via Edward I of England).

Then again, it is estimated that everyone in England and about half the US is descended from Edward I, so that's not so special. Even so, your subject was my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, so of course I guessed it. :bigsmile:
