Guitar solos - Senjutsu

I was very curious about that PRS credit. If any of them had been using electrics for some reason I expected it to be Dave, I could see him switching his Floyd-equipped LP for a PRS. I also noticed that, unlike TBoS, there wasn't a credit to Victory Amps so I guess he's back to using Marshalls?

I expected 3 solos for LIALW (because it is an epic), but after all Janick plays the lead melodies in the album.

This song along with TWOTW and Darkest Hour are the only songs with 2 solos in the album.

An interesting thing... In the "IM use" section... There is "PRS Guitars". Which is interesting. It says specifically guitars.

Now, if I had to bet, I'd say that H used a PRS 12-string on Hell On Earth and Darkest Hour.

Also, even the solos sound better on CD through big speakers. They seem quite muddy to me on YT.
Some rhythm guitars on The Parchment and the leading riff on Days of Future Past were played on a PRS, 99% sure

I think there's some nods to Thin Lizzy in the solos on Death of the Celts, there is definitely very Brian Robertson like phrases at the start of Adrian's solo, and he is the biggest Lizzy fan in the band, so I definitely feel that's on purpose. I think there is some in Janick's solo too but that might be my imagination. I also think Dave is invoking his Clansman chorus fill in his solo too on purpose.

Darkest Hour ending is Janick. I also thought the ending to WOTW was Dave, but it's Janick. Hard to tell IMO though.

I like the proggy solo of Adrian in this song... (in contrast of the proggy solos in Starblind, IOA and TMWWBK from TFF album). It fits great.

The solos of Dave and Janick are very good. The melodies are superb - classic Janick!

10. "Hell on Earth" Harris 11:19
D (as if J precedes this but feels too short to be a solo)

Yep, more of a fill and there's a similar section a bit earlier where there's some chord fills that are mixed as if they are switching from the left channel to the right channel and vice versa, and I think this Janick fill section before Dave's solo is just a variation on that earlier idea.

It's actually:

The ending licks sound like Adrian and the Jan to me.

There is the usual chorus melody by Adrian, but very far in the background. Not a solo.

Janick is what matters here, in this context.

That one has 4 Murray solos.

A guitar player from a tribute band (Ed Hunters) posted the following at the official fan club forum regarding the solos on The Thin Line Between Love And Hate:

FC member andremertens said:
You can hear clearly the guitarists especially davey´s sound as he always plays with a Univibe sound - phaser with neck pick up at most of the times.

here’s the solo section with minutes throughout the song:

→ 02:12 - 02.22 - Dave (with Wah Pedal)
→ 03:08-03.19 - Dave with wah again, fast legato
→ 04:51-05.20 - Dave with neck pickup
→ 05:50 - 06.05 - Melody also dave
→ 06:32-06.42 - Dave - you can clearly hear it also in daveys specific vibrato
→ 06.55- 07.06 - Yannick - clearly different and edgier guitar sound - different vibrato and bending
→ 07.39-07.52 - Dave

So the only solo section which is not from Dave is at 06.55-07.06

I had assumed all solos were Davey's, but I am happy to admit I was wrong.

There's a chance he's right, but if you were to put a gun to my head, I'd still think that was Dave. Even just the logic of him having played all the other 4 solos.
