Imo the Earring trashes the original, basically because of the beautiful long instrumental part. Unfortunately I can't give a link to show it.

I've never heard of them 'till now... so there :p

I am sure you have heard of this. :)

...and this, of course. I know that this is probably one of those tracks where many people keep thinking "now who did that?". But seriously, if you don't know this, I have to wonder where the hell your ears have been all your life.

Well, believe it or not I had NEVER heard Either one of those songs... and if I had, I doesn't ring any bells... cool stuff though.

He's just too damn young.

Hell, I've seen White Lion live, back when they first got big. 1988, opening for Aerosmith. That was the infamous Aerosmith tour where Guns N Roses opened for them. GNR's drug use was driving the newly-clean Aerosmith nuts. And it was reputedly GNRs best tour ever. But I missed it by one show - I saw White Lion's last night on the tour, and GNR joined at the next show.

White Lion was a great band, mainly because Vito Bratta was an amazing guitarist. His solos had both structure and melody.

Onhell's experience with 20th century music isn't much different from that of a desolate monk.  ;)

I gotta practice :D

Could be age, but Perun is younger than me and he knows them... so that's no excuse, I blame it on being Mexican :p Anyway I'll just add that I've practically singlehandedly kept this thread alive since inception... don't get used to it though, I can still kill a thread if I choose too ;)

Two interesting points from the article:

1. It’s not about MTV, radio, and print media anymore.  MTV and FM Radio have nothing worthwhile anyway.

2. “We have gotten many requests to release our other album tracks on Rock Band, so that’s something we’re contemplating doing through the Rock Band Network,” Necochea said. “I’m curious to see if that will generate income for the band.”

They're not the first bad to contemplate that as piracy is out of control.

3. “Mötley Crüe sold more copies of their last single on Rock Band than they did on iTunes.  I think all band based Guitar Heroes sold more that those respective bands material in the last several years.  The new Van Halen one will probably generate more money than anything they've done, not counting concerts, since 'Balance'.

Release shitty albums, I won't buy it.  I buy $5 of music every week.  That's $10 a paycheque (plus albums here and there).  It's that simple.

There were more sales of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith than all the albums Aerosmith have sold in their entire career. I remember the number for the game is 36 million, and I don't recall the albums number exactly but I think it was around 30 million.

No.  Aerosmith Guitar Hero sold more than anything Aerosmith released after 1995.  (That includes 3 studio albums).  I read it in an article on just this topic.  In America alone they sold way more than 30 mil. in their entire career.

EDIT:  Here is a wiki source that pretty much states what I remember reading.  I'm too lazy to look for the original article.  Notice that although the sales are about 1 million, due to cost, it made Aerosmith more money than all their albums combined.  Maybe that's what you meant.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith sold more than 567,000 copies in its first week and grossed more than $25 million.[33] The game has seen more than $50 million in sales in the first three months following its release,[34] with over one million copies sold.[35] The band itself saw a 40% increase in their catalog sales in the weeks following the game's release.[36] According to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith has made more money for the band than any sales of their previous albums.[37] The game surged in sales in April 2009, with 110,000 copies for the Xbox 360 sold in North America, due to retails discounts on the title following the release of Guitar Hero: Metallica, and actually outsold the newer title.[38]

If they ever make a Guitar Hero: Iron Maiden, they should definately put Rime of the Ancient Mariner on it, and Paschendale.
If they're in a good mood, they should reference Black Bart (the suit of armor in the back of the tourbus) somewhere, or make the Black Bart Blues an encore song.

If they ever do something like that, they just HAVE TO make a model of Janicks Strat with an accelerometer. So there could be minigames where you could do Janicks tricks.
I'm afraid to do most of them with real instrument because I would trash it and/or my environment, buth with light plastic axe there would be no limits  :yey:
