Despite being an 80's thrash-head, I just could never get into Dark Angel. Burning of Sodom is alright cut though. None So Vile is a classic Death metal album with an awesome atmosphere. Love the bass on that album too. Slit Your Guts is killer.

Yeah... I get your point. If you read my opinion in my case it's the complete opposite but for the same reasons. As much as I like Death Metal I never really digged Crytopsy. And although I prefer old school DM there's stuff in the vein of None So Vile I really like (an example is Beneath The Massacre). And sure the guys play tremendously well and are (rightfully so) revered in the scene but it really never managed to hook me the slightest.
On the other hand Darkness Descends is your typical "out of my way and full speed ahead taking no prisoners" mid 80's Thrash album I really love. Nevertheless it's the only album in the band's discography I like.
It's curious how some really cool albums that gather some consensus get utterly different feedback fans from both genres like you and me. And if one has the insight of giving value despite his own opinion that's not a bad thing. Quite the opposite.

Led Zeppelin is beaten by King Diamond. Zep is currently in the game, and has a couple more albums to come. Next for King Diamond - Iron Maiden.
Coroner holds on against Lacrimosa, knocking the latter out of the game entirely. Next for Coroner is Luca Turilli.
Cryptopsy is crushed by Dark Angel. That's it for Cryptopsy, and next Dark Angel faces Dimmu Borgir.
Finally, Running Wild runs wild over Alcest, ending the GMAC for the French act. Next is Dark Tranquility.

A game is a game though. Picking my favorite album out of the 2 here: Crimson Glory.

We will see in about 23.5 hours. Crimson Glory beating Rainbow would be an upset, but to be fair, this particular Rainbow album was list nominated and that indicates it's not the most loved of the albums.

I enjoyed the Crimson Glory album, I had been dismissive of them as first impressions were it was very like Queensryche, but I began to rationalize it by asking myself would I have enjoyed it if it was a Queensryche album? The answer was yes, so I gave the whole record a listen, it was good, some of their idiosyncrasies became apparent e.g. far more twin guitar harmonies than Queensryche and not cliched Maiden/Lizzy rip offs either. So that's the first new band I've discovered from this game after a couple of near misses with Kellertak (sp.?), Down and Spirtitual Beggars.

However, there's no way it's beating the first "real" album from arguably heavy metal's best vocalist. I also prefer Ritchie in these three albums with Dio to his Purple heyday.

Btw. Crimson Glory's debut is way better than any Queensrÿche album, yes, including Mindcrime, and Midnight was also way better than Vest Knifeman. Don't @ me.

IRYO. Queensrÿche as a whole is probably a better band as Crimson Glory only had 2.5 good albums, but still, Crimson Glory's debut is a classic of the genre. Underrated, underexposed.
