Good guitar to buy ?

Been playing for a few months on my rubbish encore strat. Its battered and its starting to sound rubbish. I've been looking at a few guitars including the fender squire which apprently is excellent value for money. I would like a guitar that is good for playing rock/metal.

My price range is £140 - £300
 
My first guitar was a Kramer Focus VT111S. It's an excellent first or second guitar for the price. It cost me £100 about 8 years ago for a new one. I would recommend it as a good strat copy. I've not played a squire but I think these are as good as if not better.

After a couple of years I replaced the bridge pick-up with a Seymour Duncan hotrails.

You get what you pay for. A Squier Strat will cost you about $150. If you can afford double, then $300 will get you a much better guitar.

The Squier is solid, sounds just OK. For $300 I got an Epiphone Les Paul, which sounds ten times better.

Or: get the cheap Strat copy for the body. Find a good guitar guy. Buy your parts one by one. New pickups now, maybe a slick neck when you can spare a dime...
 
I suggest you get a second hand guitar. More value for the money. For 300£ I suppose you could find a second hand Fender Mex strat.
 
Agiles from Rondo Music are better than Epiphones for less money, and this is coming form the owner of three Epiphones. Seriously consider them!
 
There are many types of guitar sold in the market it is difficult to suggest you good one i can suggest you some site name where you can buy guitar at low price and quality one. you can also search there your favorite by taking your own time in selecting. Best sites are Gibson.com, WWBW.com, www.guitarsite.com.

Have you had a look at ESP? They have some great guitars with the floyds amd the nice humbuckers, very reasonably priced.
