Global survey of Iron Maiden's fans

IMthesis

Great academic study on IRON MAIDEN and their fans. If you feel like being one of the band’s genuine fans, please answer the questionnaire at the following link:

THANKS in advance.

Re: GLOBAL IRON MAIDEN'S FANS SURVEY

Done as well, but I deleted the thread in the General Discussion forum, that really isn't necessary.

Re: GLOBAL IRON MAIDEN'S FANS SURVEY

Done. :D

By the way, the question "Which IM albums do you own", do you mean original cd's or even if you have it in mp3 form on your hard disk?

Re: GLOBAL IRON MAIDEN'S FANS SURVEY

Done. Interesting seeing the kinds of questions there. I think I got all my historical-influenced-song questions right. I suppose it doesnt matter though.
Oh, and Adrian Smith is the most important part of the band  :P

Re: GLOBAL IRON MAIDEN'S FANS SURVEY

reposted the link on the official forum, you should get a lot of traffic from there. Cheers. Can't wait for the results

H's also my favourite, but wasn't the question like "who's the most intriguing personality" or something alike? I voted Bruce, the man who's the best singer on planet earth, pilot, historian, olympic fencer (well he could have been if he diched the singing carrer)...and a lot more.

Re: Global survey on Iron Maiden's fans

Thanks again Lads!

Special thanks to GOR for the posting on the official forum! That's amazing!

At the moment (only after 16 hours!) I've already collected 213 answers! It's far more than any of the French rock studies that have been published by now!
I knew that the Maiden's fans were great but it goes beyond my "wildest dreams"

The aim of this survey is to make "the profile(s)" of Maiden fans. Maybe you know the book of Jeffrey Jensen Arnett Metalheads: Heavy Metal Music and Adolescent Alienation. Basically I was not sure that his conclusions about the metal fans would necessarily apply to the Maiden fans!

You can count on me to publish the stats of the survey on due date!

Don't worry if I'm not replying a lot... I have 300 pages to write in the next couple of month and unfortunately I cannot spend as much time as I wish on the forums.

Thanks again for everything,

UP THE IRONS!

Jean-Philippe

Done.

I think there could have been more in the political affilition bit - like authorotarian/libertarian, nationalist etc.

Great survey!  :ok:

I wish there was research on all the bands I listen to.  ;)

Notes:
As for the "most outstanding member" I voted for Steve Harris.  All H madness aside, without Arry there would be no Maiden.  He is the backbone.

Q "Have you got a Maiden ring tone on your mobile phone?"  A: No, but my fiancee has 'Different World' playing when I call her.  ;)

I have one note for a question that might be considered ambiguous.  I hope you don't take this as bad criticism because I really enjoyed your survey.

Q. 12 -- I was not certain whether or not hard rock would be classified under the metal umbrella.  I have plenty of hard rock so I answered that my collection is about 50% metal.

Done.

I agree.  Is a libertarian on the left or right?  I put "nowhere," but that's not entirely accurate.

Okay.  If left is San Francisco, and right is New York, then libertarian is Sydney, Australia.  Meaning, the left-right scale is actually nonsense :)
