Fairly sure there is a documentary coming, but not sure it's about the history of the band like everyone assumes.Unless there's something special cooking for the 50th or the documentary is real

It could be on the fan base and cultural impact of the band.Fairly sure there is a documentary coming, but not sure it's about the history of the band like everyone assumes.
The last sentence is what worries me.I definitely think Nicko's condition is going to prevent a live album from this tour. Maybe if they cobble together a best of compilation in the style of Book of Souls live chapter, but even then I am not sure if there is a great performance of each song out there since there are several songs and parts that Nicko was basically unable to play (Trooper jumps to mind, Caught Somewhere in Time while workable was often rough). And even if they do have some solid performances, Nicko has directly acknowledged online comments about his playing so the band is clearly aware of what's said here and on other platforms, so I reckon they just won't want to draw more attention to it.
True, maybe for this year is the (certain) documentary, but Rod mentioned more things for the fans in 2025 (''what we have throughout the whole year of our anniv'').On the other hand, we still don't know of any Maiden releases this year. They usually release something every year, even if small, and we haven't really had a new live album since 2020 (unless you count the Beast Over Hammersmith live issue). Unless there's something special cooking for the 50th or the documentary is real, I could see an opening for a release this year.
Wasn't Dave Lights interviewed? It think it's going to be about the band. The whole career? Idk, maybe small fragments. They've been recording it since 2021 (iirc), probably interviews with everyone involved over the years. Maybe about the history of the band - and the impact on the fans.Fairly sure there is a documentary coming, but not sure it's about the history of the band like everyone assumes.
I will admit that I had similar thoughts. Remember that for the first time the management had a YouTube video of a concert recording removed.I definitely think Nicko's condition is going to prevent a live album from this tour. I don't think we can tell something is "certain" for this year apart from the forthcoming European tour. Yeah, Rod said they have prepared something special and many things out of the sleeve but (as we know) Maiden management said something like that many times in the past. They aren't the most creative ones in the world I reckonThe last sentence is what worries me.

I'm waiting for a Bruce solo documentary, documenting him on the road alone for his spoken word tour.Fairly sure there is a documentary coming, but not sure it's about the history of the band like everyone assumes.
About the perfection thing: They released DOTR as an official live album, Bruce was totally ill, so why not TFP with Nicko handicapped.
True that. But isn't TFP a must for the fans?Live albums make for good nest eggs after retirement...
This.I will admit that I had similar thoughts. Remember that for the first time the management had a YouTube video of a concert recording removed.
Metal bands make most of their money from physical products these days. That's not the problem.
But let's see, maybe we're worrying for nothing and something will be announced soon.

Yeah, also ME and NOTD, but I don't think the comparison is that fair. And Bruce sounds great to me. Nicko, fine enough.About the perfection thing: They released DOTR as an official live album, Bruce was totally ill, so why not TFP with Nicko handicapped.
Sounding for production, yes. Sounding in terms of performances, only Bruce in NOTD imo. They should indeed. They've released worse sounding live albums. They should release this one. So many rare tracks.
Bruce is only rough sounding on the first couple of songs and then absolutely hits his stride later in that show. The whole band is on fire and that live album/video is very underrated in Maiden's live canon.About the perfection thing: They released DOTR as an official live album, Bruce was totally ill, so why not TFP with Nicko handicapped.
Everything seems logical, but knowing Maiden's policy, we can get something or nothing. I've heard rumors about a special book to be released next year. The documentary should be in the cards but I doubt we see this one soon, probably in 2026 as the anniversary of the band's concert activity. If there aren't more and special things for this big anniv, when?
THIS. The Future Past set list was glorious.I really hope they release a live recording of this tour. It was an incredible setlist
And I was there that nightBruce is only rough sounding on the first couple of songs and then absolutely hits his stride later in that show. The whole band is on fire and that live album/video is very underrated in Maiden's live canon.
From 2003 (or was it 2006?) onwards they started recording every show. For earlier tours they definitely have some recordings, considering that we have recordings that were released as B sides (Wembley 1990, which also has a great sounding bootleg, some 1999 Ed Huntour stuff like Aces High or Powerslave, some Blaze stuff).I wonder if steve have shows from past tours. I mean maybe from 86,88 90 or other previous tours. Or the tours we dont have live cds a matter early days ...
When they retire they could put out that if they have.
86 there is no good bootleg
Yeah, in Madrid the venue doors were open for some reason and Bruce caught cold after the gig. Then two days later he was already ill but did the gig and obiously did not fully heal for the Dortmund gig. Interesting approaches to some songs like Lord of the Flies when he was sick on that Frankfurt gig. Had to alternate / varie due not being able to hit high notes etc.Bruce got sick at the start of November: apparently he struggled a lot in Frankfurt on 4th November (I went to the Madrid gig on 2nd November and he sounded fine, although he complained loudly about the air conditioning). As a result, 3 gigs were cancelled (on 5th, 7th and 10th November). He went back to singing live on 12th November and the Dortmund gig was on 24th November, so although he sounds rough at the start of the show, I doubt he was “totally ill”.![]()
CSIT I never had a problem with Nicko's playing really. Songs at higher tempos like that I don't really mind the drummer playing straight through it like Nick did.I definitely think Nicko's condition is going to prevent a live album from this tour.
