I'm pretty hungry right now, so I start anticipating lunch time. Wondering what's for lunch today in the canteen, I started thinking about what I like best. Well, they served me chili twice last week, which is about as close to perfect as it gets, since that is my favourite dish.
So, without further ado, post about your favourite meals! [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]

Mine are:

Chili con Carne (as I said). It can't get any better than that, except it's crammed into a taco with cheese.

Steak. Preferably with potatoes and Caesar salad, but rice is great too. Medium rare. Steak is best if it's black on the outside and red in the inside!

Maccharoni bake. Nobody makes it as good as my mother. I could eat that stuff all the time.

Dutch hodgepodge. Potatoes, carrots, leek and pepper sausage. Best when all stamped together.

Döner Kebab. Best. Fast food. Ever.

Curry Sausage. See above, but only in Berlin.

So many more...

Wonderful topic Perun! style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":)\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /]
My favorites would be:
Fish soup (small fishes and crabs mixed with tomato sauce and many many more. I make it myself)
All type of crustaceans, preferably cooked is a simple way (grilled with lemon is the best way)
Blackbirds grilled on wood fire
[img src=\"http://www.oiseaux.net/images/gould/vignette/merle.noir.jpg
Kippers and smoked fishes
Strong cheeses
Mangos
I like pepper and hot chili.

The strangest dish I ever got was a bouillabaisse (i.e. a fish soup from south France) served in an Australian restaurant somewhere in Borneo. Believe it or not but it was fabulous although it and nothing in common with the true bouillabaisse.

Favourite food eh!

Mine has to be a lamb madras - can't beat a decent curry.

Others include a full English breakfast (with the obligatory black pudding) - extremely unhealthy I know, but....I'm English.

Peppered mackerel with salad and mayo.

Dover Sole, with dauphinois potatoes.

Marinated olives (green and pitted) with sundried tomatoes.

And as a snack, try ripened pears, sliced on a crumpet. On top of this, put some stilton and grill it! Don't be fobbed of by the sound of this until you have tried it.

And for all the countires I've been to, Greek food is the best (I've yet to go to India, so until then).

Irish stew isn't bad... It's basically the same as normal stew but we have to claim it as our own.
Apart from that, I like Italian dishes like Spaghetti Carbonara, Spaghetti Bolognaise and Pizza. My favourite toppings would be pepporoni but anchovi is also great.

Basically I would eat anything laid down in front of me. I'm not very picky but I suppose unhealthy foods alwyas taste better [img src=\"style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

I can only eat it once or twice per year, but poutine rocks my world.

Also,
Parmasean Chicken,
Corn on the cob
Schnitzel,
Beer-battered fish
spaghetti and meat balls (mom's home made sauce)

The Filipino Pork made be LC's father is pretty good too, but in his own words "It's damn hard to catch the Filipinos."

I tried to make it at home, but it wasn't as good as when it's done by a professional. Basically you make a batter (egg, flour, some baking-powder, salt, pepper, and instead of water you use beer), dip the fish and fry. See what the others say.

That's the worst thing I had (unfortunately) ever tasted [img src=\"http://www.simonerossi.it/faccine/ambulanza.gif

I eat anything and everything that can possibly be eaten (in the western hemisphere, haven't had the pleasure to try bear feat, dog, cat, snake, monkey brains or shark. But I have tried grasshoppers and silk worms). However since it is about favorite food I have to go with Chicken in any shape or form.

My favorite foods to eat (that I can actually cook, too!)are:

Grilled Salmon with a little lemon, dill, and herbs (or to make it a little spicy, done with Cajun seasoning), and then served with herb roasted vegetables (like carrots, zuchini, yellow squash, asparagus) and saffron rice, (or steamed broccoli, roasted potatoes- whatever you feel like having with it).

Chicken Marsala (chicken, mushrooms, and a bit of fresh garlic cooked in a creamy marsala wine sauce), and served with saffron rice and/or garlic roasted potatoes. You can also make it with veal, but I prefer chicken.

Spinach and Artichoke dip (not really a meal, more of an appetizer). Which is spinach, artichoke, and a little garlic mixed with cream cheese and a few other kinds of cheese. Then baked in the oven and served on slices of toasted mini-bread (or rolls).

And the best- Toffee! Really good (evil) toffee with almond slices mixed in and then topped with chocolate and pecans. It's my mom's recipe that she taught me how to make, and everyone that we give it to gets addicted to it!

I hope I won't have pizza again today. I love pizza, but I can't have it three times in a row.
