Longtime observers of this board may know that Onhell and I have many deep philosophical differences:
He's a hockey fan ... I couldn't care less.
He's a Catholic ... I'm an atheist.
He's a heretic worshipper of 'Arry ... I'm the High Priest of the Church of H.

But on this matter, I am firmly in Onhell's corner.
Altoids are exponentially better than any other mint.
As a bonus, only those with the hardiest constitutions can withstand them.

All dissenters are, in my humble opinion, completely crazy. /biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":D\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /]

Fish and Chips
Anything that has chicken in it
Tuna butties (that's sandwiches to you posh people) /tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Altoids sold as an antacid? Taking them like candy can be dangerous to your stomach. Tic Tacs are just flavoured sugar, so they don't affect anything.

Perhaps they were sold that way once, similarly to how Coca-Cola was originally created for medicinal use. But Altoids are candy today. Sweet, delicious candy that's strong enough to make a grown man cry.

Couldn't agree more! See, great minds... um... sometimes think alike.

reading that thread made me extremely hungry...
a meal that is really hard to beat is Schnitzel, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. It's "basic", but I simply love it!
And I wouldn't mind having a portion now... damn you all!!!!

You know what, I was actually tempted by a MacDonalds today. I have no idea what came over me. ::

Chinese. I'm game for anything oriental, especially if it's covered in sweet chilli sauce. As well as that, most kinds of meat, chicken, prawns etc. etc.
And Pizza
Oooh, ooh! And pasta!
And Chilli! Can't beat good chilli!
Chicken Korma with rice kicks ass, too!
And many others ::

@Albie: Don't worry, it's just their evil advertising. Sure, it may be (say) 30% less fat than the old days, but 70% of crap is still worse for your system than a good, hearty meal, cooked by a proper chef and smothered in all kinds of delicious sauces. *drools* (besides, BK>McD's, especially the chips)

I like McDonald's. Their food might end up giving me a heart attack, but it just tastes so good.
My previous encounters with McDonald's has left this imprint: The salad in the burgers is not tasty and not very fresh. The bread is too soft after being warmed up in a microwave with full effect. The french fries are not fried enough. Conclusion: McDonalds burgers are the worst thing ever happend to mankind. /tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":P\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /]

But that's just my opinion.

Try some dog food instead. It's more healthy than anything from McDonald's. /happy.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"^_^\" border=\"0\" alt=\"happy.gif\" /] No really, it is.

You may laugh (any readers/respondees* to this), but my dogs get feed seriously good food. I would not even dream of giving them a Macadees left over!

I did find on previous visits that their baps lacked any sort of taste whatsoever.

I'm with you on that, it's just the local BK has been shut down - but Ronald still thrives! /sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":(\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" /]

I blame my temptation on some bloke I passed in his car eating a Big Mac!

The thing about McDonalds is that it's quick and filling. I occasionally go there (once a month) when I am too lazy to go to meal hall, or when I just feel like a change. I eat at Dairy Queen about twice a month, but only when I miss meals here because of work.

My first job was at a McDonald's, back in 1987-88. Granted, things may have changed since then. But I think these issues have not.

First, McDonalds does not microwave their bread. They toast it. However, I agree that their toasters are woefully ineffective.

Second, if the fries are underdone, that is the fault of the individual who fried them, not the fault of the corporation.

Don't get the wrong impression here - I agree McDonalds is substandard food. But you ought to get your reasons right.

Wendy's > Burger King > McDonalds.
And independent burger joints generally are the best of all.

I agree. Sadly, we don't have a Wendy's here. I'd kill to get one here. As far as fast food goes, they're the superior item. We do have a Dairy Queen, and I prefer their morsels to McDs any day of the week.
